CHAPTER 9: Acceptance
"what are you doing here?" ren asked jeno as soon as he arrived inside the older's car. "Jeno, are you okay? It's been 2 weeks. You haven't called your parents. What happened to you? You look lost" ren added
jeno brushes his hair before looking at ren "I'm sorry" he said "I just don't know exactly what to do. I've been in love with Jase for two years. She just answered me last month and we didn't even last long" jeno continued to talk while ren quitely listen to him.
Jeno is so inlove ren thinks
"I'm so sorry jeno. I don't know what to do in order to help you. You know- I don't have any rights to disobey my parents" ren said and chuckles
"Ren, I'm sorry. But anyways- I am here because I wanted to give you this" jeno said while handing the envelope
"What is this?" ren asked while scanning the envelope
"My cousin Jaehyun's birthday invitation" jeno replied. ren just nod and reads the invitation
"Oh- Okay! I'll come. Thank you" ren said
"By the way, about our marriage. I already told my mom that i'll accept it" jeno said "Don't worry. We still have a lot of time to know each other right?" jeno said while tapping his fingers
but ren is obviously doubtful.
"Jeno, you don't have to do this. You just broke up with Jase. I don't want you to do this. I don't want to be a-" jeno stopped ren by placing his fingers on his lips. ren was shocked and he immediately pinched jeno's arm.
"Sorry- Look- ren! I know you are doubting me right now but look I don't want you to become a rebound. I won't let that happen. That's why I told you that we still have a lot of time to know each other" he said and sighed "Moving on is hard, that's why for the past weeks I've been away, clearing my head" jeno said
"Just remember that you can't force yourself to love someone, to love me" ren said
"I know but i think it's not hard to fall in love with you" jeno said
"I have many bad traits jeno and you don't really know who I am" ren replied while sighing
"I do have a lot of bad traits too, but then let me know who you really are" jeno said, ren just smiled at him and bids a goodbye
He still doubts jeno. Ren knows that jeno has no choice but to agree to this marriage. He just doesn't expect that the older would wanted to know him more.
"This is just an arranged marriage. Why bother jeno?" ren muttered and goes back to his class.
