You're sweetness which
Combats the bitter undertones
Swirling in my cup and
Swishing between my ribs.
My dear, I want to consume you,
And even I have no idea
In what way I mean it.
Maybe I want to roll up
The eccentric thoughts
Filling your mind and
Get high off of their smoke.
Perhaps I want to lick
The words from off
Of your tongue to
Better process your
Understanding of them.
Maybe I want to hold
Your heart in my hands.
Get as close to it as I can,
Study every movement
And cling to every whisper,
Until I feel properly close to you.
Maybe this desire to consume
You is actually the desire
To properly touch something.
You see, I don't want to touch
Your waist, hips or anything so simple.
I want to feel you.
That proverbial being which
Exists somewhere behind your eyes.
I want to unwrap all of the layers
That build you and know the
Path you've walked along.
It's criminal my love,
Just how much closer I
Wish to be with you.
