Lunch was probably my favourite part of the school day. Some may say it could be counted as a class, I would be amongst those few people. The way I see it, a class is where you learn things and you can learn A LOT within the hour that we're given for lunch. That just depends on if you're paying enough attention. For example, I learned that one of the cheerleaders had a pregnancy scare last week. To my disappointment, she found out that her period was just late. What a pity. That would've been my scoop of the week. I will take it to my grave that this does not count as gossip. Gossip is where you talk about it with other people whereas I like to keep it all to myself. It's like a living soap opera and I just get to watch it all unfold right before my very own eyes. It's just pure entertainment.

Today's episode seems to be taken up by my own little clique.

"I just don't want to be up all night waiting for him to climb through my window at 3am again, you know? I just don't understand why he has to keep us a secret." Sylvia mumbled, stabbing her fork in to the what seems to look like week old meatloaf. Hawkins High likes to treat us to fine dining, obviously.

"Come on, Sylv. I'm sure he has a good reason to, maybe he has a lot going on right now and isn't ready for anything exclusive." Jessie smiled softly, rubbing her upper arm to comfort her.

I always admired Jessie for his optimistic outlook on life. Even if people saw him as naive, he just wants to see the best in people. Even if it's Sylvia's fling who is a total meathead. Just for context, Sylvia and her 'boyfriend' have been seeing each other for just under half a year and he's barely even spoken to her outside the four walls of her bedroom. She's never even been to his house before. He always says that she can't come over because he wants to wait until his parents are out of the house and they apparently are always there. Shocking that the people who own the house are actually in it, right? How selfish of them. In my opinion, I think that Chris is the definition of an asshole. I'd never tell Sylvia that, it would break her. Sure, I voice my opinion on him but not to the extent that it could upset her.

"You know how I feel about the guy but Jessie could be right about this one." I say, reaching out to hold her hand across the table.

"Yeah, you're right. Thank you, guys. Where would I be without you both?"

"You simply would not exist without your two best friends guiding you through the epic tale that is your love life." Jessie chuckled.

"For that, I shall forever be grateful." Sylvia giggled back, standing up and offering us both a curtsy. We returned her gesture with a bow as she went to join us back at the table.

"Hey, I forgot to tell you guys about an audition I'm going to tonight." I slid the flyer across the table to them both, "I found it on the noticeboard outside the gym yesterday and thought I could check it out."

"Corroded Coffin? Isn't that Eddie Munson's band?" Jessie looked up from the flyer and looked at the table behind him. I looked in that direction and saw a group of guys throwing pistachios at each other.

"Eddie who now?"

"Oh, Anna you know him. He's the leader of that Hellfire Club, they all play some sort of game. Caves and Creatures or something." Sylvia interjected.

"I think you mean Dungeons and Dragons, Sylv." I laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She shrugged.

I looked over to the table of rowdy boys again to notice one of them with long, curly hair. He was doubled over in laughter over something that one of them said. I couldn't deny that he was cute. Even from half way cross the cafeteria, I can see the dimples that he had compliment both sides of his face when he grinned. I couldn't help myself but stare at the way he would fiddle with the chunky silver bands he had complimenting his pale and slender fingers. He was also sat at the top of the table, I assume he was their 'leader'. So, this was Eddie Munson who I'd never heard of until right now? Have I been living under a rock this whole time to never have taken notice of this person or were my friend group the only other people who actually knew of his existence?
