In the past few months, it was the same as always. Dayeon was super nice and caring towards Chaehyun. Which confused both her friends and Chaehyun. But she was oblivious to the confusion.
"Do you need help with the books?" Dayeon asked, watching Chaehyun struggle with the large pile of books she was holding.
"Yes. Yes I do." She let out a sigh of relief when she felt some of the weight leave when Dayeon took three books. "Thanks." Chaehyun said, awkwardly.
Once Dayeon and Chaehyun arrived at the library, they placed their piles onto the desk in front of a lady and walked away, heading back to their homes.
But before Chaehyun lets Dayeon go, she had to ask her why she was being so nice. "Wait," She spoke up and watched Dayeon turn around, confused.
"Why are you being so kind to me? I thought we disliked each other?" She finally asked, waiting for the shorter girl to answer.
"Because, I don't want to fight with you anymore. It's a waste of time and won't get us anywhere." Dayeon answered, "Why are you asking?"
"No reason. I just wanted to know." Chaehyun awkwardly smiled and waved at Dayeon before leaving quickly.
When she opened her front door, she stepped inside and closed the door behind her, soon running up the stairs and rushing into her room.
"Chaehyun?! Are you back?" She heard her mother calling for her. "Yep!" She answered, walking out of her room and spotting her mother near her door.
"Food is going to be ready in a few." Her mother said before going downstairs and to the kitchen while Chaehyun walked back inside her room and sat down on the edge of her bed, taking out her Nintendo Switch and playing Animal Crossing.
"How's the lunch?" Chaehyun's mother asked after finishing her own. "It's as good as always. Thanks, mom." Chaehyun smiled and stood up, heading to the kitchen and placing her empty plate into the sink.
"Mom! Can I go out with my friends?" Chaehyun asks, hoping it would be a 'yes'. "Yes, you can. Just be safe!" Her mother replied, watching her daughter leave the house.
Chaehyun wasn't actually going to hangout with her friends. She lied and walked to her favourite park, alone. She was bored and didn't have anything else to do anyway.
It was very peaceful until she heard a very familiar voice.
"Chaehyun?" It was Dayeon. Chaehyun sighed and stood up from the bench, turning around to face the other girl. "Hey," She awkwardly said, sitting back down and facing the water fountain.
"What are you doing here?" Dayeon asked, sitting down beside Chaehyun, also staring at the fountain. "Nothing." Chaehyun simply answered. It was basically the truth.
Dayeon nodded and looked around, obviously bored.
"What are you doing here?" Chaehyun asked, facing Dayeon. "I was having a walk, until I saw you." Dayeon answered and watched Chaehyun nod.
It was an awkward silence that both Chaehyun and Dayeon didn't enjoy. But the silence was broken when Chaehyun phone rang. She took it out of her pocket and answered the call. It was her mother, asking if she was okay. "I'm fine, mom." Chaehyun miserably answers, rolling her eyes.
"Sorry, it was my mother." Chaehyun said before putting the phone back into her pocket. Dayeon nodded and soon felt her own phone vibrate. "I think it's my mom this time." She giggled and checked her phone.
"I have to go now, Chaehyun. See you next week." Dayeon stood up and smiled at Chaehyun before walking away and leaving her alone.
