I stood motionless with my hands behind my back, waiting for the garage door to rise and reveal what was hidden behind. Seeing the silhouette of the tattoo covered, muscular man rotate and lock the key into position made all the hairs on my arms stand on edge.

A little red light lit up; despite it being very dim it hurt my eyes. I guess the sudden change in brightness came as a shock, but it felt good to see some light under the dark night sky. Why he didn't bring a torch, I don't know. When morning comes I'll know exactly what the surroundings looked like, but for the time being, knowing there was quite a distance from the main house was enough. A distance great enough for me to contact and plan.

As a humming noise began the shutter like garage door began to ascend upwards. My eyes were fixated on the gap which seemed to take forever to grow. With each passing second I became more and more agitated; whatever was behind would determine my future.

There was a sudden clunk as the door locked into place. A moment of silence followed, until it was broken by the clicking of a series of UV lights turning on. The clicking then stopped, now all that could be heard was the swishing of the branches in the gentle wind. I blinked numerous times as my pupils adjusted to the light intensity. Then standing in awe my eyes widened and my heart stopped. A thousand questions went through my mind. I couldn't believe the sight and a chuckle escaped as I stood in disbelief.

"Are you freaking kidding me? No you can't be serious! Please no!"

I tried to reassure myself that it was just a stunt to scare me. However from the look on my acquaintances face I could tell it wasn't. He took the key out, crossed his arms and smirked. He looked at me then towards the garage, signaling for me to go in. He was enjoying this.

"This is no joke amiga. What's wrong? Let me guess, Mr Adrian Williams didn't tell you what you're going to be dealing with?"

Speechless my mouth fell open. I moved my jaw up until I was gritting my teeth and smiled. I let my arms fall from behind me to my sides. Making my way forward I examined each edge and face that stood before me. The shiny surfaces glistened as the rays from the light strips, which illuminated the garage, bounced off and scattered. At some points during my journey around the subject of study, the reflections blinded me. At those points I hoped I would wake up, but I didn't. With a full circle complete I came to a halt. My gaze lifted away from the surfaces and over my shoulder, towards the towering Mr Rico Dorado; he still stood in the semi-darkness beyond the entrance.

"So what'd you think, enough of a challenge for you? Think you can handle it?This is the car of your dreams. This will win you the races and most importantly the rat race. Or in your case, the skunk race." He sniggered and mocked.

I took a step back and tried to admire the scene. I couldn't. Crossing my left arm over, I balanced my right elbow onto it and placed my hand on my forehead. That piece of crap was supposed to help me get into Skunkworks. That piece of crap was supposed to be a master-piece, not just a piece! I was truly speechless, and I'm never speechless. I couldn't articulate what it was that I wanted to say because I didn't think that this scenario was even a possibility. I wasn't angry. Nor was I scared of the challenge that the next couple months would be. I was just truly and utterly shocked. So much so that I couldn't stop laughing. However, with all my might I managed to take a breath long enough to speak.

"No, come on."

"What?"

"You got to be kidding me." I shook my head

"When it comes to business, I no kid" he laughed

"Naah, seriously. Nah listen." I paused then pointed.

"Where's the rest of it?" I questioned bluntly.

"What ever do you mean?" Dorado responded sarcastically.

He knew exactly what I meant. It had to be a joke. I burst out into laughter again as I realised this was exactly something Adrian would do. Yeah it was a joke alright; a joke on me.

"Dude, are you kidding me right now? Where's the rest of the blooming car?"

We were both now laughing hysterically at the thought that I arrived there expecting a fully built super car. Shaking my head I glared at the chassis. I arrived with the vision of tuning a super car but instead I was faced with an empty framework. Just great.

"Dude where's the rest of the flipping car?"

Dorado suddenly stopped laughing but didn't speak, so I continued.

"Let me guess the rest of the lights are going to turn on and it's going to appear all 'shiny whiny', with tinted windows and the whole package? Right? Come on at least you know, have a flipping engine, windows or even a flipping body?"

Yeah, I was still hoping.

He started laughing again untill eventually he managed to stop, after wiping away a few tears.

"Firstly who's this 'dude' you speak of? My names Dorado. Ok? Do-ra-do."

Was he actually being serious, he thought I got his name wrong? Damn. Before I could open my mouth to respond Mr Dude continued.

"And as for the rest of the car, the rest of it is in your imagination. It's your dream car, remember? Get it dream, dream car? Oh I Swear I so funny."

"Haha very funny. Hah. Now I understand why he put me on a three month placement in the Canary Islands."

"What you thought you were going to sit back and have a vacation?"

Too be frank, I did. I thought it would be work and play. Play, something I forgot how to do; sure I landed a job around cars, but I needed time for me. This job was going to be anything but quick; leaving no time for escape.

"Yeah something like that" I sighed.
