14. We'll be home soon

{DIEGO'S POV}

We've been driving for sometime, the car was going really fast, but I know it's gonna be a while until we get home. I'm so tired and in pain, I had dark rings around my eyes, and so did Luca

It was during the day, and the sun was so bright and hot. The girls woke up, but they didn't say much

"Dude, we need to stop," Luca said

"Sure."

He pulled off to the side of the road and then got out. I got out as well to help him. He got a new container off petrol, we filled up the tank and stretched outside. The girls got out as well, Mira came over to me and gave me a hug. The glass in my back hurts, but I took the hug

"Thank you, didi."

You have no idea how long I waited for you to call me didi again

"You're never leaving my side again," I said

I pulled away and looked at her. Her hair was a mess, and her skin was kinda pale. I grabbed the water bottle from my bag and gave it to her

She still had my hoddie on. My cap was in the car

"Mira, can you do me a favor?" I asked

"Anything," she said

"Can you take out the glass from my back for me?"

She looked at me with a worried expression. She nodded her head, and I turned my back towards her. I slowly took my shirt off just so that it was over my head and shoulders but kept it on my arms

Mira gasped and slowly put her hand on my back. I flinched a bit but calmed down quickly, I started removing the glass from my back, and the pain was intense

Luca and Isabella walked towards us. He saw my back and got shocked

"Did they hit you?" He asked

"Yea, with beer bottles, but I'm fine,"

Ah!

I could hear her sob every time she pulled out a piece. I looked at his sister, and she was staring at me

"Hi Isabella, it's nice to meet you," I said

"Hi," she smiled sweetly

"Bella, this is Diego. My friend, " He said

"From?" She asked

"The roads." He chuckled

"Huh," she said

"I met him on the road, he was running in the rain and I stopped to help him. He told me he was looking for his sister and I was looking for mine so we traveled together and became friends"

"That's sweet," she said

"Done," Mira said

I turned around and saw her wiping her tears away. It made my heart sore. I gave her a hug and told her everything would be alright

"Don't worry, okay?" I said

She nodded her head

"We'll be alright," I said

"Well, we should get going, we have a long way to travel," Luca said

I nodded my head and then put my shirt back on, I could feel the blood soak through my shirt. We got into the car and started driving

I went to the school to fetch Shay, and he said he wanted to talk to me about something. I waited outside the gates and watched as all the students walked out with their friends and boyfriends and girlfriends
