Unexpected Love

Chapter 13

Layla POV

"Good morning sunshine" I opened my eyes to be met with Kia opening my curtains, causing the sun to blind my eyes.

"Whyyyy" I groaned out not ready to get out of bed.

"You need to get up it's already 2 in the afternoon and we have to go get a few things, plus your phone has been going off" now standing in front of me Kia yanked the covers off of me.

"Are you really going to treat a 7 month old pregnant woman like this" I said with my hand over my chest acting in fake hurt.

She laughed at me and walked into my closet getting something for me to wear.

I got up to check my phone seeing 11 messages from Raye. I frowned at the notifications wondering what could be so important.

"Why's your face like that?" Kia questioned. "I have to tell you something and I only have about 5 or 10 minutes to tell you" she looked at me with concern, sitting down next to me.

I haven't told Kia about getting to know Raye yet and I'm not sure how I feel telling her so soon but Raye is on her way so in this situation I don't really have a choice.

"Okay so...I'm not really good with explaining things so please have a little patience with me, my child other parent is coming soon and I would like for you to please have common sense. I've been getting to know her because of obvious reasons, I'm not sure if you do know her but if you do well then I don't know" I finished my rant and stood in front of Kia.

"Okay I just have one question" I shook my head not really prepared for her next question.

"What's her name?" I wondered why she asked that question is such a nervous voice. "Her name in Raye".

Once I said the name her face grew pale and she had a guilty looking face. I prayed to god that they didn't have any history, knowing that all Raye does is sleep around with anything that has a vagina.

"I'm going to go brush my teeth" I announced to Kia walking into the bathroom and closing the door. I did my business and attempted to fix my hair to look presentable.

Many thoughts are going through my mind. I can't get the facial expressions Kia had on when I said Raye's name. I'm not sure how I would feel if I learned that they once had a history together. While me and Raye aren't together or have any love interest, it would still feel weird.

I heard my phone ring so I walked out of the bathroom to check it, seeing a text message from Raye saying she's outside. The only reason she's coming over is so that she can drop off a few things for the baby.

She wanted to take me out but I turned her down given that me and Kia have to go get stuff for around the apartment.

The front door opened and I wondered if that was my sister coming in or Kia letting Raye in. My room door opened and my sister walked in.

"Hey me and Kia about to go out and somebody is here for you in the living room" I nodded my head in acknowledgment. Why would Kia be going somewhere when we're supposed to go out? I questioned myself but decided not to dwell on it.

The clothes Kia had laid out for me wasn't really my mood so, I walked back to the closet grabbing some sweat pants and a white wife beater shirt.

In the middle of me getting dressed my bedroom door open and Raye walked in making me let out a loud scream. "Get out! can't you see I'm changing!" I yelled at her but it seems as if what I said went through one ear and came out the other.

"Raye get the fuck out" I hurried and put on my shirt as she started to walk towards me with slow steps. "Why it's nothing I've never seen before" she said in a low voice, "yeah well that was only one time" I managed to slip my sweat pants on before she could reach me.

Raye put her hands out and placed them on my stomach, our baby girl stared to kick and I watched as her face light up in excitement.

"Since your sister and roommate left...can I take you out now?" She asked me holding my hips and to close for my liking. I backed up saying 'yes' but pondered on the thought of asking if she knew Kia.

"I have a question" I told her backing away to sit at my vanity. She raised her eyebrow waiting for my question. "Do you know my roommate...Kia?".

"Yes...and if your asking if we fucked then the answer is also yes" she told me without hesitation. I don't know why but when she told me my heart kind of felt weird, we're not together so why do I even feel away?

"Do you feel away?" Raye asked me I shook my head. "If you feel away you can tell me" she pushed but I ignored her not up for that conversation. I sat down in front of my vanity beginning wanting to fix myself up.

But in a swift motion Raye turned my chair around making me face her, she bent down not removing her eyes from mines. "If you feel away baby you need to let me know" I repeatedly blinked my eyes at her then shook my head.

Baby?

"Why would I feel away we're not together and you're obviously know for fucking around so I have no right to be mad...I just so happened to be one of the girls you have sex with and ended up pregnant" I shrugged my shoulders acting as if my feelings are hurt deep down.

Raye twisted her mouth and nodded her head, seeing hurt flash in her eyes and quickly go away. "What if I want to be more with you?" She asked me, causing me to freeze.

"I'm sorry what,can you repeat that?" Feeling as if my ears heard wrong. "I want to be more with you" she repeated with more confidence.

I'm not really sure how what to say. One minute she's not one for relationships and then she turns around and want to be more? Man she's confusing.

"I'm not about to be some type of experiment or someone you can play with Raye" she rapidly shook her head like a little kid would.

"I want something serious with you. You're having my child and I've always wanted to be with the mother of my child" she said with seriousness.

"So then you only want to be with me because I'm having your child?" I questioned not really understanding her reasoning. She got up off her knees and stood up reaching a hand out to help me up.

I smacked her hand and got up waddling to my shoes. "No Layla I want to pursue something with you because ever since that one night we had, for some odd reason I couldn't get you out of my head so you having my child is only a bonus and I want to do this right".

She lead me to the bench in front of my bed helping my put on my shoes. "So what do you say hm? I would like to take you out on a date tonight...please Layla" she said in a horrible French accent making me laugh at her.

"Well I was heading out to get a few things but since Kia left me... yes I will go out with you on a date with you tonight...just come with me to get some ice cream and some new clothes" she nodded her hand and finished tying my shoes.

"Deal" Raye grabbed my hand and kissed it causing me to blush.
