3.Just A Ride

*Y/n POV*

"Shit... Stupid bike" You scold to yourself. As you walk your bike towards home you hear a horn beep at you. Taking off your headphones you look next to you. "Oh Family Video Steve right?" Steve laughs "Yeah if that is what you want to call me. Looks like your bike caught a flat?" Y/n looks down "No it's just sad I decided to take it for a walk to make it feel better." Steve looks at you confused "I don't know what to say I just." You laugh "Don't sweat it Steve what were you honking at me for?" Steve puts his car in park "Well it looks like you and your very sad bike need a ride could I offer it I just got off work and was heading home."

"Well, I'm glad you are here because I was on my way to return the movie you very kindly let me rent for free so yes I'll take this ride from you." Steve takes your bike putting it in his trunk as you get in the front seat. "So where do you live?" Steve starts to drive his car. "Just a couple blocks away." Steve looks around. "I have a friend who doesn't live too far from here." You look over at steve as you put your walkman away.

"Who is it? It's this house right here." Steve looks at you shocked. "You live near my friend Dustin?"

    Y/n give him a confused look "Dustin Henderson? That's my stepbrother."  Steve slaps his wheel " You're the stepsister Dustin was telling me about. huh! That's crazy!" Steve pulls up towards the house. "Wow there are a lot of people here, my dad said he and Dustin's mom would be out tonight. Does Dustin ever through parties?" Steve laughs "Definitely not. I know he is in a D&D club they could be playing in there now." You open the door to his car "well that makes sense, now I kinda don't want to go inside." You laugh going towards steves trunk. "Oh let me help you out." Steve gets out of the car grabbing your bike. "Thanks, Oh! before I forget can you bring this back to your job I don't want you to get into trouble for just giving away movies" You hand Steve the VHS he takes it out of your hand. "Well, I'm glad to help tell Dustin I said hi I'm gonna head home." You wave at steve putting your bike on the porch and going into the house.

"Hey! y/n where have you been?" Dustin waves at you. "Oh sorry I went to go return something and my bike got a flat and Steve from the Family Video gave me a ride home. He also says hi to you Dustin." Dustin looks shocked "You met Steve he didn't even want to come inside." You go to the kitchen grabbing a cup of water. "Yeah sorry, he said since your friends are here he didn't want to distract you." You look over at the dining table seeing all the kids from the cafeteria "Oh hi Hellfire friends."

"Hey, New York." You roll your eyes "Eddie is it hard to say y/n. Anyway, I gotta go to my room I'll see you all later." You walk to your room closing the door behind you.

*Eddies POV*

"Henderson is Sinclair joining us anytime soon." Eddie sighs "Ball and Laundry basket practice must be running late but he said he would be here." A faint noise of a car is pulling up outside. "And there he is" Eddie walks up to the front door "That's not him...is that Harrington with y/n?" Dustin gets up walking toward the window "I mean I know she went to rent a movie yesterday maybe she met him." Eddie bites his bottom lip going back to the table. "Well does anyone know of a quick sub we can use or we can just do this without Sinclair." Dustin looks over at Eddie "Maybe I can ask y/n she doesn't know how to play but we can help her out as we go." Dustin shrugs

Eddie hears Dustin talking to y/n as she gets into the house she walks into the kitchen and catches a glimpse of all of us sitting.
"Hey, New York." she rolled her eyes "Eddie is it hard to say y/n. Anyway, I gotta go to my room I'll see you all later." she walks to her room closing the door behind.

"Well, Henderson is she gonna join?"

"Shit I forgot to ask, I can ask still?" Dustin points towards your room.

"Actually how about I ask if she says no we can do a little planning for the next campaign since this one is almost done."

"Sure I'm-"

"Awesome! I'll go ask" Eddie gets up quickly knocking at y/n's door.

*Y/n POV*

A knock is coming from your door you yell "Yes Dustin? Come in." The door opens and Eddie walks into your room. "Sorry, not Dustin but just want to ask you a quick question." He closes the door behind him standing in front of your bed looking around your room

"Oh, Eddie sorry I thought it was Dustin. Is everything okay out there?"

"Yeah everything is good just wanted to ask a question." You put your book down. "Sure go for it." Eddie takes a deep breath "Wanna play D&D with us?" You give Eddie a confused look. "Don't have enough to join?" Eddie leans against the wall "No, but listen if you don't like the game I won't bother you again but if you like it like actually genuinely enjoy playing D&D come just hang out with me skip school. I would actually like to get to know you as you." Getting off your bed "I'll do this for Dustin and I want one of those shirts they are pretty cool"

"Sweetheart you can have the one off my back but do we have a deal" Eddie holds out his hand.
"I want a new clean shirt and yes we have a deal" you shake Eddie's hand.
"Listen I promise I washed this shirt already"
Laughing you both walk out of your room.
"So how do we play" you look over at Dustin.

*After a couple of hours*

Most of the boys are leaving Dustin is cleaning up.
Your sitting on the couch Eddie comes and sits next to you. "Okay so if you didn't enjoy playing then I would say you were lying because you were so getting into the game" Smiling at Eddie "okay yes I did enjoy playing" Eddie pumps his fist in the air "So when do you want to skip?".
"Once I get my shirt then we can skip now get out of here I gotta catch up on what I was doing when you came in my room to distract me."
"I'm the best distraction you'll get y/n now I'm gonna grab my stuff I'll see you tomorrow" Eddie stands up going towards Dustin grabbing his things.
"Bye Eddie thanks for the game! And y/n thanks for joining us" Dustin gives you a high five. You wave at Eddie as he is leaving. "It was a lot of fun Dustin I'll try to learn more on how to play so it can go faster next time." Dustin looks excited "So does that mean, you're gonna join Hellfire?" You chuckle "I'll join as a sub until I actually figure it all out. Anyway night Dustin see you in the morning" You walk to your room.
