The first work of a novice writer. I want to give writing a shot so please witness my journey!

The Angel's Thread. The mysterious and unknown phenomenon that existed since the beginning of civilization. This phenomenon can happen to anyone at any time, with no exemptions.

Think of it like this: You woke up from bed just like any other day, but that isn't the case for you this time. This day won't be like any other day, because you just found out that you're now affected by this mysterious phenomenon that existed for centuries!

This exact curse happened to me five years ago. I woke up from bed and suddenly, I have this red intangible thread wrapped on my right pinkie. This means that somewhere around this world, there is someone I'm sharing this red thread with... The two of us, now sharing our destiny together.

The longer you try to ignore the thread, the more misfortunes will come your way. The misfortune also gets stronger the more time passes by. The only way to get rid of this misfortune is to connect with that partner and both of you will have immense luck nobody can achieve.

" Which is why my luck is so terrible right now... I've been ignoring this curse for five years." I say to myself as I sigh. I lazily observe the thread on my finger as I munch down on my breakfast cereal. " I mean, if the person I'm sharing this thread with is also ignoring it for five years, then why should I be the one to do something about it?" I added.

It has been recorded that this phenomenon only occurs in 10-12 individuals yearly. My luck must be so down horrendous to be one of these unlucky people.

" Yo, big bro! Can you pass that cereal to me, please?" My younger sister Agatha just arrived in the dining room after taking a shower. She sits down at the table next to me before she began pouring milk into her bowl.

" Wow, pouring the milk first before the cereal? That'd be a turn-off to many boys, you know..." I say to her while lifting an eyebrow.

" You know what be a turn-off? Meeting a boy that cares about minor pointless things. Now, can you hurry up and pass me the cereal, please?!" She yells at me before banging the table with her fist. Though I suppose she has a point about what she just said.

" Coming right up, madam." I grabbed the cereal box while smirking, I then slowly hand her the cereal, but before she could even receive it, the bottom seal of the box came loose, which made the cereals inside fall off.

" WAHH!! MY CEREAL!!" Agatha screams as loudly as she can. " Why didn't you notice that the bottom seal was loose, you idiot!" Agatha witnesses all of the last remaining cereals fall off the table.

" My bad... I'll go grab a second box on the shelf." I scratch my hair as I nod my head in front of my sister. I then got up from my seat to grab a second cereal from the shelf near the kitchen. After I got it, I went back to the dining hall and got back in my seat.

" I'm not cleaning up the mess you made by the way." She squints her eyes as she stares at me with intent.

" Yeah, Yeah, I'll do all of this by myself." I roll my eyes while I casually slide the cereal box to her. She didn't waste time pouring the cereal into her bowl after receiving the box.

" By the way," She says before eating a spoonful of cereal. " I saw the news this morning and it was about a random average guy that is now married to a female celebrity. Apparently, both of them are one of the few people that are affected by the Angel's Thread." She continues the topic while chewing her food.

" How unfortunate, huh? Now both of them are forced to spend the rest of their lives together. This damn curse is robbing the victims of their freedom and happiness." I reply to her as I sigh while observing the intangible thread on my finger at the same time.
