It had been a long few weeks for the two of you, but it gave you an ample amount of time to prepare for the weekend since it’s very special.
It’s your husband’s, Nanami Kento, birthday, and you didn’t want it to be spoiled by a bad week.
Friday evening came, and everyone at his corporate job was celebrating at a local restaurant to eat and drink. This happened only because of Gojo, self-proclaimed friend, who wanted a reason to finally hang out with Nanami before you “steal” him away for the weekend.
You didn’t mind Gojo keeping Nanami away for the evening as you planned out where to go, and purchased a secret gift for your stoic husband.
The one thing you don’t like about Nanami’s personality as he’s too giving and not much of a receiver. If he found out what you’re doing right now, he would contact everything you just did so he would pay for them instead. Even though it’s his birthday weekend, he wanted to be the one taking care of the expenses and giving back to you. It’s good in the beginning, but after a while, you want to show and prove you weren’t somebody to just take things without reciprocating back.
You sighed but smirked. This time, he won’t be able to go against it and just take it.

You held Nanami’s hand as you walked around the aquarium. Looking at the different kinds of fish and exhibits you knew he would enjoy it since it’s a relatively quiet place. Something the both of you are fond of. Definitely something different than a loud restaurant with loud chattering, Nanami told you when he got home last night.
Of course, coming to the aquarium wasn’t met without a small fight over the expenses. You listed all the places you were to go with him, thinking he was tipsy enough to just agree and pass out from the drinks, but it only seemed to sober him up (sort of) to want to pay for it all instead of you.
“I don’t want you to worry about me,” he whined as you took off his shirt to get ready for a bath. “Save your money for yourself. I got you covered.”
“Nanami, it’s your special day tomorrow, and I don’t want you worrying about things like that. We both have well-paying jobs, so I’m fine,” you kissed his cheek.
You giggled thinking about the pouty look on Nanami’s face, and he gave you a questioning look which brought you back to the present.
Going to the library then bakery were things you both did when you had free time between work, and probably the only inexpensive thing he would let you take you to. You watch as he gladly ate his food with a smile on your face. You can’t wait for tonight at the hotel you booked.
“All that is left is seeing a movie, walking on the beach, dinner at the restaurant I booked, and spending a day at the hotel,” you thought and grinned at the plans. You refused to let Nanami know until you went to those places.

After traveling around, and some minor complaints from Nanami, the two of you settled into the hotel above the restaurant you ate at. The night before you packed some things and ordered Ijichi, Nanami’s personal assistant, to take them to the hotel at the check-in time while you took Nanami to different places. While Nanami was in the restroom at the bakery, Ijichi rushed in the place to hand you your keycards before leaving in a flash. Everything was set in motion.
Now you’re in the shower getting ready for the night event. You told Nanami to leave your bag alone as he wanted to place his things in the drawers. You said you’ll take care of it once you’re out.
Obviously, you wanted him to not open it because his gift was inside it, but it’s also the other surprises inside of it as well. You know he wasn’t the type to open your bag without permission, so the worry was not there. Your slight perfectionist side wants everything to run smoothly and with the plan as possible.
