Vicky

People are raving and applauding, the school auditorium has been packed to its maximum. Lights are turned on as the sun had gone down and the scoreboard screen is depicting our team score which is equal to our opponents.

Ah, just one more score and we will win. Time shortage is pressuring my head. We should score one goal in ten minutes.

All our team members render eye contact with each other and nod assuringly. We can make it happen. I chant inside my head and then avert my gaze to Thikki who is perched in the first row.

She is going crazy while bouncing and cheering for our team. She has worn a black top and jeans. Her hair is dancing around as she yells at me...?

Wait, oh god--I should play now.

Well, anyways ball is too far away from me. But I carefully catch it as one of my team members kicks the ball in my direction. I obtain custody over it and steer it through several pairs of legs, often doing some tricks to carry it out of their reach.

Once near the net, I attempt to boot the ball towards it but one of my opponents plunges in my front. So I slide the ball between his leg by bending my body and I reach quickly in front and provide a good bang to it.

Damn, the goalkeeper misses the shot, meaning-- our team hits triumph!! Loud mirths radiate across the auditorium and the entire screen exhibits our team, dark warriors, members adorned in black jerseys. And subsequently, it changes to the current scenario where the opponents are disappointed and our team has a wide smile on their countenances.

I sit on the spot, unable to stand. I sprained my left ankle. Splendid. Regardless of it, we won! I'm freaking delighted.

My friends bundle up and hug each other, and immersed in joy, they forget to pay attention to my state. Out of nowhere, Thikki dashes at me and places her hands on my shoulder.

"What happened?" She questions in worry. "Sprain," I say with a shrug and she stares at my soccer shoes and socks with a concerned frown.

Soon, my friends and couch acknowledge my situation and helps me out to Thikki's car before assigning me an ice pack to soothe the pain. I seat in the passenger seat beside Thikki who is driving the car and I keep on glancing at her unsettled self.

"Is it hurting very much?" I shake my head negatively and press the pack close to the sprained area.

"Remove that headband now. You look like a rowdy" she demands and I smile, gently discarding the black round-shaped band off my head.

As soon as I eliminate it, my hair goes puffy all over, and some fill my forehead. "You should do a haircut, it's appearing like a bird's nest" I furrow my eyebrows at her comment.

"What? All my girl besties told me it's looking so good on me. They even had asked me to maintain this hairstyle" Thikki's face goes into serious mode and I quickly add "But that's not the reason why I'm keeping it though, I just like it, you know.." Yet she stays silent, that's dangerous.

"Why don't you have boy besties?" I scratch my hair. Even she has a boy bestie but I never enquire her like this, Uff!

"I do have boy besties but just like them, girls are so good too" I bit my tongue at the realization of my words. "Yeah, I know right...they are indeed good" Thikki repeats my words and I stifle laughter at the vexed expression on her face.

Is she getting possessive of me? And why in the world is this fifteen-year-old boy's heart is throbbing at that?

For the rest of the ride, my eyes stayed on her beautiful face. She is making me feel something weird. The sensation is so distinct.

When we reach our house, I restrain away the ice pack on the dashboard and Thikki assists me to her room downstairs as I can't walk upstairs with my sprained ankle.

By the way, Thikki and I are now similar on basis of height, so it's comfortable for me to hold her shoulder for support.

Once in her room, she turns on the AC, then gently lets me lay on her bed and leaves me alone. A few minutes later, she scrambles in with another ice pack and clutches it to my ankle as she reclines beside my legs on the bed.

"Thikki, I will hold it. Give it here" I assert but she lends me a frown. "No way, you relax back on the bed, I will take care of it." She smiles and I melt at that.

Without another word spoken, I shut my eyes. As time passes by, I feel the ice pack evacuating my skin and an elastic bandage being tied upon the area.

I open my eyes as Thikki eventually finishes the task and I sit upright on the bed.

"I will bring dinner," she pinches my cheeks and goes out of the room. Just then, aunt and uncle come in to check on me. As I assure them that I'm okay, they leaves me after patting my head. They are rarely seen in the home, but they are one lovely human beings.

Henceforth, Thikki enters in with a plate of fried rice and two spoons, my favorite food!! "Tada! I know you would win the game, so just bought it as a gift" I blow her a happy grin, and soon the plate goes empty as we both feed on the delicious food on it.

Thikki then assists me to the washbasin in the living room to clean our mouths and afterward, she strolls me back to the room. When I crouch on the bed again, she bids me a glass of mild hot water from the flask situated at the side table. I gulp it down and she ambles out of the room, taking the flask with her.

I smile, loving the care she possesses over me.

Momentarily, she again docks inside the room and spots the flask in its native place. "I will sleep in your room. If any emergency, call me on my mobile or just yell my name. Good night Vicky" she talks fastly and leans close to my face.

Something inside my stomach twists at her proximity. This has never happened before. I swear!

Thikki's left-hand brushes my hair that falls on my face and holds them back, exposing my forehead. Her touch is hot. It is creating a burning impression on my skin.

I seize back my breath when her lips land on my forehead. This is too much. My eyes go wide at the various unknown feelings sprinting across my body. What the hell is this!?

I pull away first and she smiles as she vacates my room, leaving me speechless and perplexed
