Thikshitha
"Slow down the car Vicky!!" I holler in anxiety and smack his arms. "No way Thikki... let's die together. You have lost your lifelong friendship with Deepak and hence, I have lost my happy Thikki. So I don't think there's any reason for both of us to live anymore." He shook his head, mashing the accelerator more.
After my breakup with Deepak, that guy put an end to our friendship too. He is the only close friend I had for all these years and slashing my bond with him had really taken a heavy toll on me. Which in turn, affected my mood profusely...I couldn't bring myself to even smile heartily for the past week since the incident had taken place!
Dai (used to mention males, it differs with the situation and the manner it is being used. Here its usage is based on an angry reaction.)
"Dai Vicky, stop the car!!" I freak out as the car seems to be going out of control. I don't want to die now, not when I have to take care of my Vicky and witness him lead a good life ahead.
"Then all you have to do is smile..." he tilts the steering, resisting a collision with the truck that was running before us, and due to the impact, I slant sideways on my seat, with an overwrought expression. "Vicky...stop the car, I'll smile for sure," I say, gritting my teeth, and capturing his wrist that has clasped over the steering wheel.
"Promise?" He asks cooly, and I bit my lip in rage. Once he stops this damn car, I'm going to plant my fist on his face.
I nod, leaving his wrist and peeking forward. My eyes clung to the aesthetic scenario ahead of me. The light emitting source is descending, propelling the world to cover itself in a light shade of black.
The setting is heartwarming. I lean back comfortably on the seat and stare at it, with a smile. Wait..!! Did I smile?
I did...
I avert my eyes to Vicky and he gave me a wink, a victorious one. "Now now...see how you came out of your sorrow Thikki. There's happiness in little things like this. Learn to relish it. Most people become too addicted to achieving something in their life and in the process, they disregard it, perhaps they don't get enough time to be captivated by these simple moments. Thikki, you should-
I cut him off and lean in to kiss his cheek, pressing a long smooch there. "You have grown up" I ruffle his hair after I pull back from the kiss.
"Thikki, don't you think it's time that you should stop kissing me often?" I poke his nose at his comment. "Why should I? It's not like you have a girlfriend now though. Even If you do have one, I wouldn't stop kissing you" I grin and play with the black stud on his ear.
"Er....how immature are you? I'm not comfortable with your kisses Thikki. Stop when I say so" Here we go...
With a huff, I cage myself in my seat and fold my hands over my chest. "Where are you taking me now?" I question, halting the silent atmosphere. "Beach." He murmurs, his face stoic.
"Okay..." I nod and soon, we reach the lone beach. He has brought me to a part of the sea that people don't usually visit.
Upon hopping out of the car, I slowly walk to the shore of the sea, hugging my pink button-up shirt on my upper body. Suddenly, my matching pink skirt begins to sway in the direction of the wind and I flatten it down with an irritated sigh.
For a minute, I stand gazing over the endless sea and unstoppable waves. The deceiving beauty in it is truly eye-catching yet threatening.
Not sensing Vicky beside me for a long time, I spin to look for him and found him resting down on the sand, gazing aimlessly towards the sea. His thick hair is jostling cause of the wind and he seems to be too lost in his thoughts. His otherwise bright face appears dull. Nevertheless, he is handsome as always.
I stroll forward in his direction and take a seat next to him. "Someone is sad?" I blurt out, inciting Vicky's attention to subside on my countenance.
"I want to tell you something" I nod assuringly, indicating for him to go forth. "I'm in love with a girl but I don't think she has feelings for me." Ouch...my heart burns at his words.
"Are you sure you love her?" He frowns but then a mischievous smile sits on his lips. "What? Are you jealous?" He leans in close to my face.
"Chee...why would I be jealous. I'm happy that you love someone.." okay. That wasn't entirely true. I don't feel nice, I actually hate sharing love, especially--my Vicky's love.
But then again, one day he must have to love someone and I should have to let him go.
"Was it Kirti?" His eyes go wide at my inquiry. "Shit no. She is my best friend. I wouldn't want her to be my girlfriend ever..." Then who the hell is he in love with?
"Who is she then?" I quirk a brow in doubt. "Well, I'm planning to propose to her on our college day. It's on next Wednesday. I expect your presence too" of course, I will come. I want to see that girl who made my Vicky craze in love.
"What If she denies your proposal and you get humiliated?" I don't know why I'm trying to demotivate him, but I feel too much jealous.
"I'm pretty sure she won't do such things..." I look away towards the sea. "Still, propose to her in private. It's safe." He didn't respond which made me glance at him. He is staring at me so intently...
"Vicky! I can't. You are this baby in my hand who has grown up soo much and now is about to propose to a girl. I feel so dang possessive." overwhelmed by my thoughts, I hug him tighter, wrapping my hands around his neck.
His hands snake my waist and he chuckles beside my ear. "Thikki...I'm and I will always be yours" he whispers, and that weirdly chills my spine.
"And Thikki...I can feel your assets on my chest" Ah. The struggles of having boobs. Also, mine is sort of huge!!
"So you want me to break the hug?" I sigh, listening to no reply from him. When I am about to detach myself, his hold tightens on my waist. "Well, I guess I'll bare it..." I look up at his face. He has a naughty smile pooling on his brims.
Damn him!
"You pervert!" I break free from the hug and hit him on his chest playfully. He chuckles and lets me do it.
"Thikki... enough" he stammers as I went hard on hitting him. I smile in triumph.
Subsequently, he stands up from the sand and proceeds to run away while I chase behind him, giggling. He made me go from just a smile to a giggle. My goodness, I'm so grateful to have him in my life.
I don't know how we ended up like this. However, now I'm on top of him as he lays beneath me on the shore, the sea waves washing our bodies.
And then we smile looking at each other.
