{Patty's POV}

I unpacked my last box as the doorbell rang. "Lily!!" I yelled hugging her. "How are you??" I asked. "I'm great! Actually I have something to tell you" She said quietly. "Are jack and Finn here?" She asked looking around the flat. "No they just left, why?" I asked. "Well I think Jack knows this already...but Patty?" She said looking me in the eyes. "Yeah?" I said putting my hand on her shoulder. "I'm pregnant." She said smiling. "OH MY GOD! LILY! THAT'S AMAZING! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!" I screamed, hugging her.

We ended up talking for hours, looking at baby catalogues and thinking of cute names for the baby.

{Dan's POV}

"Hey Lil. How was Patty?" I asked closing the door behind her. "Great! She is so excited about the baby. I told her that she can be Aunt Patty." She said smiling. She always got so excited when she talked about our baby. Our baby. We were having a baby. The fact hadn't sunk in yet. My excitement grew everyday, knowing that we could share such an amazing part of life together, by bringing another life into this world.

It was getting pretty late. We had stayed up all night just talking about what it was going to be like being parents. She was going to be such a great mom. I just knew it. She was perfect. I wrapped her in a blanket, as she drifted off. She looked so peaceful while she was asleep. I picked her up and carried her to our room.  I placed her down into the bed, pulled the sheets over her, kissed her forehead, and whispered "I love you" as I crawled in next to her.

I woke up the next morning to the most beautiful face in the world. Lily's. She was still fast asleep, so I decided to make a pot of tea, and I started to whip up some breakfast for the two of us. I was just about to scoop the sugar into my mug when I heard the most terrifying, shrill scream I had ever heard in my life. It was Lily. I dropped the sugar bowl and ran for her. I flung open the door to find her sitting in the sheet, screaming. The sheets were covered in blood and so were her trousers and hands. In that moment, she did not even look human. Her face was completely pale and lifeless. My body went into shock. I couldn't say anything. I just stood there in the doorway. Tears streaming down both of our faces. I felt as if my heart had stopped beating. It was a miscarriage.
