In this Eddie is 19 and repeated one year and y/n is 18 and was in the year below but she's in the same year now since Eddie repeated-

'He's really riled up today,' Mike says to Dustin as they approach the Hellfire table with some distressing news about Lucas attending the final campaign of "The Cult Of Vecna".

'He's always riled up,' Dustin replies, as they come ever so closer to what feels like their death sentence, Eddie's reading the newspaper.

Eddie reads aloud, 'Sodomy, suicide and EVEN... MURDER.' He's quite frustrated as the paper is talking about the very game the club was based on, D&D (Dungeons & Dragons).

'Because we play a fantasy game we're the freaks?' He gets up, 'but as long as you're into band or science or ~parties~, or a GAME WHERE YOU SHOOT BALLS INTO LAUNDRY BASKETS!' Eddie goes on his rant, getting negative attention from the whole cafeteria and being challenged by Jason.

'You want something, freak?' Jason roars across the room.

Eddie responds by sticking his tongue out and making his fingers into horns before heading back to his seat, 'Forced conformity,' he declares.

He runs between a small crowd 'That's what's killing the kids!' He sees Y/N and allows her to pass, she gives him a dirty look. Eddie sits back down.

'Hey~ Eddie,' Dustin's voice quivers in fear of Eddie's reaction to the bad news 'You know how Lucas plays basketball ball? Well, turns out that championship game tonight so we were hoping you could... uh-' He looks at Mike and they both say, 'Postpone?' Eddie gives them an icy stare. The group snickers at the proposition.

'Shut up!' Eddie commands, 'So you're saying Sinclair's been taken by the dark side?'

'Something like that.' Dustin says, soon being struck by a piece of Eddie's food.

'Something like that?' Eddie pulls out of his chair again, 'Can I level with you?' He glares right into their eyes, 'Most of us graduate this year this could be our last game and you want to postpone? Without even looking for a sub?' He slams his hand down in frustration.

'A sub?' Mike asks.

'There are thousands of kids here who were just like you go find someone - anyone to replace Sinclair; Hellfire will not be postponed because of a stupid basketball game,' he replies in earnest. He flaps his hand signalling them to go.

Mike and Dustin search for a sub all day they even ask Steve, but they all said no, 'It's impossible,' Mike says.

'Not entirely' Dustin replies as he notices Y/N on her way home about 7 metres away from them, Dustin looks at Mike
'NO.' Mike's voice cracks in fear.
'YES.' Dustin replies chasing after her, 'She's our last hope,'
'He'll kill us!' Mike yells.
'Only if she says no!'

______

'No.' Y/N says sternly.

'Please!' Dustin begs, 'We'll give you anything!'

'Anything? Hmm,' she contemplates what she may want that could make her play D&D with Eddie after all these years, 'Well if I play... I guess it wouldn't be too cumbersome, so I guess I'll play if you buy me a week's worth of coke, thats not too hard and worth an hour of D&D,' she states, 'I'll play but you owe me those drinks.'

She puts her hand out to shake Dustin's hand, Dustin giggles and shakes her hand, 'That's a deal.' He replies all giddy.

After she got home Y/N rummaged through her cupboard. After an hour she found it, the original Hellfire T-shirt, since she was the one who designed it she felt she should keep it.

As she's getting dressed for the game looking in the mirror, the shirt she made was a little loose since they used a shirt way too big for any middle schooler, since she got older it fit enough to be worn with a pair of high waisted jeans.

Y/N thinks about why she and Eddie broke up in middle school, now that she thinks about it, it was kind of stupid, but it still hurts to think about it because Eddie was so quick to believe rumours made by people who hated them both. She decides that was in the past and it's time to go.

She gathers her Dice and her character sheet; A Lvl 14 Chaotic neutral Fire Genasi named Tatsuya. It had been a while since she'd played and she was kind of nervous, but she shoved that aside and decided it was just for fun so it didn't matter.

As Y/N arrives at the school she's met by Mike and Dustin, 'He's probably going to kill you for this,' she whispers to Dustin.

'More than likely,' he whispers back

Mike and Dustin enter first, 'We found our sub,' Mike says to Eddie,

'Where are they?' Eddie says staring at the empty space between them.
'Here.' Y/N enters from behind.

'ABSOLUTELY NOT.' Eddie gets out of his chair, 'When did you start loving D&D again?' He gets in Y/N's face attempting to be intimidating.

'Since always I just never wanted to play with you again after middle school,' she replies calmly but ready to cuss his ass out if prompted.

'Who's your character? Garfunkel the lvl 3 Grung?' He laughs in her face and the others laugh too.

'Actually,' she says smugly as she flashes a book marked 'Tatsuya', Eddie's eyes widen, 'Oh yeah I've brought her, remember? We had some good times with her,' she giggles thinking about the great adventures he used to make for her character.

'So are you ready to play or are you just going to... Postpone?' She taunts Eddie with the word, Eddie flashes the mischievous smile Y/N didn't realise she has missed.

'Let's get it on babe.'
Y/N sees red for a second, 'DONT. Call me babe.'
She sits at the front end of the table far from Eddie, 'Let the game begin.' Eddie says as he gets into character as Dungeon Master.
