It wasn't Greyback.

It was someone under Polyjuice Potion.

Once Greyback fell, Harry immediately told Draco about Ginny, and apparated away.

Draco stood there, feeling tired and triumphant as he stared at the dead body. He turned to leave when he heard a grunt. He slowly turned, wand raised. He watched the body tremor, and suddenly, before Draco knew it? An old classmate laid before him. Draco sunk to his knees, his wand rolling out of his closed fist. He looked up at the moon, yelling loudly. Angrily. He fell for it. Harry is probably holding his son, promising that Greyback was gone. Telling his wife they were safe. And they... they weren't.

Draco cast the spell they had created, turning it black immediately. He stumbled away, not wanting to be seen when Aurors arrived. He limped down the street, absolutely exhausted. He flinched when a door flew open, and he looked to meet the face of the person. Hermione stood there, eyes wide. "I thought that was you! You look awful. Come here." She breathed, grabbing his arm and pulling him inside.

He wanted to leave as soon as he got inside. There were people everywhere. His eyes locked with a younger girl, and he felt sick. The only thing keeping him together was Hermione's hand in his. He stumbled along the tables of wounded people, sitting on a chair when Hermione instructed him too. "How did you get out, Draco?!" Hermione breathed, grabbing her first aid and gently taking off his button up. It was hardly on, honestly. "Dunno. But I heard Greyback, and then saw him. I don't... it's all cloudy." Draco responded, his eyes hanging heavily. "You look exhausted." Hermione breathed. "I remember sensing my mate was in danger. I guess I just went into autopilot." Draco shrugged. He bit out a sharp growl when Hermione placed a cloth with alcohol on one of his wounds.

She didn't even flinch at the noise. Instead, she sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I hope she's alright." Hermione breathed, putting the cloth on another scratch. He gave them all to himself, but some were from Greyback (well, his imposter, anyway). "Did you find him? Greyback?" Hermione asked, handing him painkillers. Draco grabbed them as well as the water bottle she offered, tossing the pills in his mouth and tilting his head back. "Somewhat." Draco answered, sounding angry and defeated. "What is that supposed to mean?" She asked, settling back in the chair in front of him.

Draco looked up at her, through his sweat-dampened hair, sighing heavily. As he looked at her, he begged her to come closer in his mind. He wanted to just wrap her in his arms, kiss her and assure her no one will ever hurt her. Sensing the Greyback imposter near her made him so angry. As he looked at her, he felt rage build in his soul. The Greyback he killed may have not been the real one but could've hurt her just the same. He stood abruptly and grabbed the chair, hitting it against the wall and letting it shatter.

Hermione stood quickly, her chair clattering to the floor behind her. All of the patients were watching in fear. It was no secret that Draco was a werewolf, and this sudden outburst made everyone fear him. "I... I was fooled. I killed an innocent man. Again." Draco growled, his voice loud and shaky from the rage. "How, Draco?" Hermione asked softly, Kingsley moving closer with his wand out. "Harry was tricked too. My senses went off all the way at Bells' house in that damn cage because he was near you. But he wasn't! He was under Polyjuice Potion, and I went to school with him. He died and I bore the curse that did the job."

There were many things to digest in that recurrence of events. Everyone sat deathly still, everyone waiting for someone to breathe. "Draco, you didn't mean to kill an innocent. This will not be held against you." Kinglsey said softly, coming closer. "He was obviously Imperiused, and therefore, taken advantage of. Killing off someone you thought was dangerous, especially in the degree you thought, is not a crime. You were fooled. All of us have been fooled before. Do not blame yourself." Kinglsey assured. But Draco was looking at Hermione as she processed what he said.
