Addy found herself adjusting the position of the lamp with her elbow, trying to reposition it well enough so that she could see the clear stitches that lined her knuckles.
Snowball jumped onto the kitchen island, interested in seeing what Addy was doing. Looking at her hand curiously, as she used the small nail scissors to cut just under the knot in the stitch.
Placing the scissors down, she grabbed her tweezers, opening and closing them once before bringing them close to her hand. Wincing each time the tweezers tugged the clear stitch out of her now healed knuckles.
Snowball kept watching her curiously, chirping every so often as he watched.
Every so often Addy replied to him, trying to explain what it was she was currently doing.
What Addy didn't realise was that Roy had come down the stairs and that he was standing watching her as she talked away to her cat and pulled the stitches she'd received the week before out of her hand.
Addy was unable to explain to Roy how or why she ended up stitches in her hand. But he had a vague idea as the day after he found out that a mirror had been broken in the toilets which were reserved for the general public during the matches.
It didn't take a genius to figure out that Addy was in the fact, the person that shattered the mirror.
Thankfully for Addy no one said anything despite it being an open secret amongst the workers and some of the footballers. Whenever the upper management asked if anyone knew anything about what happened, they pretended not to have heard the rumours of Addy walking out with blood dripping from her hand.
Addy stayed silent about it as well.
Truthfully, she didn't know how to explain why she did what she did, she just did it. Without thinking.
"Fuck," She swore as the tweezers slipped from her hand ever so slightly.
"Yeah it's hard," She replied to Snowball, who was happily chirping away.
After a few more seconds of talking to her cat, she set the tweezers down and got the small scissors and cut the top end of the stitch.
"It doesn't cost for you to get them remove, you know that right?" Roy asked.
Addy looked up from her hand, smiling at Roy. As she did this she grabbed the tweezers.
"God bless socialised medicine, but unfortunately I called my GP and she said to just swing round and she'll fit me in when she gets five minutes. But I've got plans with Nico before the bus for Everton leaves." Addy kept talking as she tried to reposition the tweezers, "So the old adage of time is money applies."
