Taren's POV:
3 days before
IN CASE YOU DIDNT CATCH IT ^^^
I slowly opened my eyes to get used to the sunlight shining in through the closed blinds. My head was pounding, and i wiped the drool off of the side of my face. I noticed that there was a bandage around my used to be swollen fist, which I'm pretty sure i didn't put on myself. Oh well. If whoever did it was still in the house, it wouldn't matter, they pretty much established the fact they wouldn't hurt me. If that wasn't the case, id probably be dead with a knife twisted into my chest. I sure af wouldn't have a freaking bandage on my hand.
I hardly remembered anything from yesterday. I know why i didnt remember. I know what i did. I don't regret it. I slowly stood up before deciding to sit back down from dizziness. Okay i regret it.... a little.
My thoughts were quickly subsided by an annoying ringing sound. I glanced at my phone on the table beside me. 12 missed calls, all from Tyler, the clinic doctor, and Carlette. Carlette. She was supposed to drop by today.
Holy shït. I wonder if shes already been by? I mean of course she has, its Carlette, which would also explain the bandage. Okay now i regret it... alot.
I stood up and ran my hands through my hair. I love that girl. I love her, and i cant believe I'm keeping so much from her. Yeah, like that makes so much sense, but i only do it so she wont have to carry my burdens around all the time. Im going to have to tell her all of it eventually. I hate her not knowing.
I glanced over at the table of hospital bills and doctors notes. I don't know how I'm going to get those visits paid off. Ive been working two jobs, double shifts, and I'm tired all the time. Of course it doesn't help my condition any, but what if i died tomorrow? I wouldn't want Carlette or my Mom to have to finish paying them off. Im no where near close. Which makes me really stressed out, which is one of the reasons why i do what i do.
I need to make it up to her. We haven't been on an actual date for a couple of months now, aside from all the times she has come over, but i feel like we wont last much longer if i keep slacking off, and i wouldn't blame her. I haven't been around as much since my yearly doctors visit a couple months ago and my new activities with Tyler...
Which reminds me, she doesn't know about him yet either, and id like to keep it that way. I needed to call her, so i picked up the phone and dialed her number. She picked up on the first ring.
"Hey Carly"
"Hello love." It was hard to hear her melodic voice over all of the muffled voices in the background.
"Listen, I'm so so so sorry for not being able to spend time with you today. I really did want to, and i was looking forward to it. I don't know why i did that, i guess i just wasn't thinking straight. I know you came by, hence the horrible bandage wrapping skills you so carry," we both laughed, "and I really want to make it up to you." I pleaded.
"And how exactly do you plan on doing that?" She taunted. This could go so many ways. We could ha.. No stop you want to take her on a date. Stay focused.
"If you would be willing, i would like to have the honor of taking you out on a date, miss Carlette Michelle Evans."
I heard her try to suppress a giggle, an image in my mind of her beautiful face suppressing a smile.
"Hmmm ill have to think about it. When were you planning on taking me, sir?" She asked.
"What about tonight?"
She hesitated.
"I actually cant do it tonight. I got a job, and i was going to help around at the shop tonight before i officially start on Monday." She confessed. I didn't even know she got a job. Why didn't she tell me?
"Really?" I paused, "Where at?" I asked.
I didn't think she meant for me to notice, but she hesitated again. It was hardly noticeable, but still it was there.
"A bookstore in town, its really small, but the people here are really nice." She explained.
"Thats great Carly! Im so happy for you......Do you think you would be available tomorrow night?"
"Now that, sir, depends on where im going." She laughed, and i loved hearing it again.
"Well, i was thinking out to eat. Would Jeffery's be okay?" Jeffery's was a small pizza place near the park. It also happens to be the place we had our first date and her favorite place to eat.
"That would be amazing," She laughed again, and i swear i wont ever get tired of that sound, " meanwhile, I've got to get going, I'm next in line for coffee." She sighed.
"Alright, well ill see my princess tomorrow then...love you."
"I love you too," she quickly said before she hung up.
Ive got a lot of explaining to do.

WE FINALLY UPDATED OMG IM SORRY SORRY ITS BEEN SO LONG. School was so crazy with all the sports seasons ending and all the work to turn in. I haven't been home for a week, and wont be home for another two-three weeks, and wont have much time to write over the summer in between sports practices everyday, all the camps i have to go to, and three book reports. Meanwhile, my co author has been in india the past month, which i am so jealous of, but is busy as well. We will try to write when we have time. Like i said, were still trying to figure out the book and i think its coming along great so far! MASSIVE THANKS FOR 4.1k reads!!!!! I cant believe how many reads its gotten. Love each and every one of you.
