Dearest Lord Saleos,

I beg of you, in the name of all that is holy, please stop the tormenting of my beloved family! Something has taken hold of my Louisa, and I'm powerless against it! She is drawn nightly, in a trance-like state of mind, to the grave site of which you spoke. And when I wake her, she is disoriented and knows not how she arrived at the accursed spot! The nightly scratches inside the walls, the whispers from outside, and the moaning from the attic are all driving us mad! My poor Lydia gets absolutely no sleep anymore, for she constantly dreams of evil and death! My only son Jonathan has been stricken with an affliction of sorts, that has baffled the local doctors! And the eyes! The demon eyes that glare at us from the woods beyond the pasture! It's all too much to bear!

Despite what I believe to be sacrosanct, tomorrow night, I shall undertake what you have demanded of me. I will destroy the accursed tomb on the southernmost edge of my property...my only request is that whatever witchcraft you have brought upon my family name, you emancipate us from it, post haste! Relinquish your evil grasp upon my kinfolk, in Heaven's name!!

May the Lord God forgive me,

Father William Bennett
