Why was I so nice to them? I'm never nice to anybody. Kids don't even like me, so why did this little girl like me? And why did her brother just stand there in shock?
Don't get me wrong, he's cute. Very cute. Like intimidating cute. Or not cute at all. Hot, maybe? Very. Did I mention he was cute?
God. Ok, I saw one cute guy, but that's all. Nothing more. I shake the thoughts out of my head as I get out of the car. Abel was on the porch talking to a lady with a glass of wine in hand.
I sighed, dragging my feet along the pavement. "Ah, here is my niece. Ciara." He introduced me.
Did I feel like being nice? Absolutely not.
"Hello, I live right next door. I'm Mrs. Conway." She holds out her hand.
"Why is she here?" I asked Abel. He gave me the dirtiest look. "Manners, Ciara. Remember."
I rolled my eyes, shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you."
Whatever her name was, smiled my way. "Likewise. I actually have a son, around your age. He's just about to graduate high school."
I raise an eyebrow. How is that close to my age? I'm 22.
"Cool." I reply. What do I say to that? Like, I'm interested in him just because of that fact?
"Right, well, I was wondering if you and Ciara would like to come over for dinner? Maybe this is a chance for Ciara to meet people her own age?" Mrs. Conway tells Abel.
As if she couldn't tell me, herself? I'm an adult as well.
"Of course. We will be there." Abel announces as I groan in annoyance. Great, now I have to have dinner with complete strangers.
"Alright, dinner starts at 7. Again, nice to meet you Ciara." She nods her head towards me.
Mrs. Conway kisses his cheek, before saying goodbye, once more. Wait, are they together. Oh my god.
"Abel, you totally have a girlfriend." I say, amused.
He violently shook his head. "No, no. Not even close." I raised an eyebrow at his answer.
"Sure. What was that kiss for, huh?" I teased.
He laughed. "I was friends with her husband, that's all." Abel shrugs his shoulders.
