Chapter 9

Now Justin thought it right to marry Anna and officially change her last name. Luckily Mr. Ages was a man of many skills and when they first made it to Thorn Valley Justin asked Anna to marry him.

In Justin's mind he may have been through the worst with NIMH but nothing could be as bad as loosing Anna.

"You may read your vows" Mr. Ages said in a small field as the sun was going down. It was just the three of them there. Anna's family couldn't make it for the day but in that moment it didn't really matter.

"Years ago when I first saved a unique looking creature from a deadly cat I didn't exactly think I'd be here.. standing in front of you. I didn't think that until I saw your eyes, my heart stopped and it decided to only beat as long as your heart was beating. Then again when I thought you drowned in the mud when we were saving your mothers home I had never been afraid more in my life. I hadn't ever truly asked you to be mine yet and I wouldn't have been able to live without you my darling. You are my light through all I've experienced in this world and continue to keep me on track. I don't know where I'd be without you. I love you Anna" Justin said softly staring into Anna's eyes.

"Justin. When I was little I never really had big aspirations for love. I didn't know what to think about it. I promise you that the day I jumped after you to save you after you saved me my heart has been yours. I spent a long time without you, truthfully I thought you had been married, found love and started a life. I would have accepted it, as long as you were happy I would have supported you. You have no idea how lucky I feel to be standing here reading my vows next to you. I found love in you, I found happiness in you, I found adventure and maybe a little danger. You are all and more than I ever could have asked for or deserved. I love you Justin" Anna said as a tear fell from her eye.

"Do you Justin Fipes take Anna Brisby to be your wife?" Mr. Ages asked Justin after quickly wiping a tear that had escaped.

"I do" he answered without hesitation.

"And do you Anna Brisby take Justin Fipes to be your husband?" Mr Ages asked.

"One thousand times yes" Anna smiled.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You make kiss the bride now Justin" Mr Ages smiled.

Justin quickly scooped Anna in his arms as he had done before and kissed her deeply and passionately.

Two years later

Anna and Justin did in fact have children in Thorn Valley. Anna was blessed with two kids, her oldest a son named Ash and a daughter named Jessica.

Justin continued working as the leader of the rats and the only people who knew of Anna's true identity stayed Mr. Ages and Justin himself.

Ash became more and more like Justin everyday while Jessica turned out like Anna's mother Elizabeth.

Her family had yet to visit her since she had her children but she wasn't upset. They lived in very different areas and knew it was alright to live separate lives.

Luckily Ash and Jessica looked like rats, Anna didn't have to hide them from the world like how she hid herself. Justin wanted Anna safe and due to the Anna left their home when needed or with her cloak covering her head.

It was a blessing if anything that Anna's tail was cut off, to a normal day passer she was a tall female mouse for her petite size. The problem was is Anna wasn't aging still.

Mr. Ages believed it had something to do with the fact a rat's genetics were involved and not just a mouses. It was only a good thing in Anna's mind because she would live as long as Justin but she was worried she would outlive her children.

"Justin! Darling I want to go out today. I think that it'll be a safe day" Anna yelled to her husband before he could fully make it out the door of their home.

He sighed before looking back, "Promise to come back safe to me."

"I promise" she nodded.

"Go take the children out. Get some sun I'll be home early today" Justin nodded then turned around to go out again.

"I love you" Anna shouted.

"And I you" Justin smiled.
