Too warm

I opened my eyes slowly, finding myself still in the same room from last night. I got out of the bed and put my brown boots on before heading to the living room.

"Toriel? Are you in here?" I called out. Only silence greeted me. I wandered around until I found a staircase leading down. 'Worth a try' I thought as I walked down.

It took a minute but we eventually reached the bottom only to be greeted with a long hallway. The farther I walked down the more suspense grew inside me. Towards the end of the hallway I finally saw Toriel.

"Toriel! There you are! What is this place?" I questioned, running to her. Nothing but silence answered me. Flowey tucked under my hair even more as she finally turned to me. She reached out and smoothed out my hair before finally answering me.

"This is the door to the underground, I keep guard to let no one in or out." She replied. It took a minute to process what she said before I realized what was going on. I looked up in horror as she lifted her hand and then I felt way too warm.

I shoot out of my bed, shaking and sweating. Just a dream, just a dream. I kept repeating the same sentence over and over until I had stopped shaking. I put on my boots and just head straight down the staircase, praying that I was just overreacting.

I wasn't. I had gone down there 10 times. And in turn, 10 golden petals had started blooming over the left side of my head near my ear. I had at first freaked out and tried pulling them out but that only resulted in a ton of pain. I just gave up and left them be. I had figured out that the door she guarded, was a ticket home. If I reached the barrier, I could escape and run home. But getting past Toriel would be the hardest part.

"Do we have to go down there Frisk? I don't think I can handle seeing you die anymore." A quiet voice piped up from behind my shoulder. Poor Flowey was so far the only one who remembered what had happened before I died.

"Don't worry Flowey, this time we'll make it out." I reassured him. It was simple, make a big enough distraction up here then bolt for the door. I got out of the bed once more before running to the living room. There stood a massive bookshelf. I ran to it and started pushing it with all I had. Once it finally fell over I went back to the staircase and hid behind a little table. I watched as Toriel marched up here and went straight to the living room. Now! I ran down the stairs and straight to the door. I was almost there when a blazing fire ball went straight passed me, I felt the burn on my arm but the adrenaline blocked out the pain so I just kept running. I finally reached the door and pulled it open and looked behind me to see Toriel shooting another fireball. I closed the door quickly and jumped back. Nothing but silence. I relaxed before laying down. I felt the burn now since my adrenaline worn off. I looked at it, seeing little tiny golden flowers bloom where the burn used to be. I sighed before checking on Flowey who just nodded he was fine before I looked around. I did it, I was out of the Ruins.

Outside was much colder, it was also way more snowy than I would have thought. I kept walking through the forest before hearing a snap behind me. I jumped and turned around expecting some kind of monster. But nothing except the wind was there.
"Don't you know how to greet a new friend?" A deep voice from behind me spoke. I turned to see a skeleton who was a bit taller than me. He also had a golden tooth and a very fluffy looking jacket.
"Well?" The skeleton spoke.
