CHAPTER ELEVEN

BRYLE'S POV

Bucket list: Food trip.

"Exactly how many days are we going to spend for the food trip?"

I just shrugged. "I was thinking of three days. So we could enjoy the different places and cuisines in Luzon. Would that be okay with you?

I saw her nod slowly before looking over the window. She seemed happy, but I can sense that something was bothering her.

"Care to share what's on your mind?" I tried opening up a conversation, hoping that she would talk to me longer than usual, and without the sarcasm and such.

"I'm just curious. If you only have a few months to live, would you do what I'm doing?"

My forehead creased. "What do you mean?"

"Rebelling. Leaving home. Not telling your parents where you are. Going on a trip with a stranger—"

"I'm a stranger to you?"

I even took a glance at her and caught her snickering. "Well, technically, yes." I glared at her. "Okay, fine. Acquaintance. Okay na?"

Tiningnan ko ulit siya. "We're not friends?"

She raised an eyebrow. "We're friends?"

"Don't you want to?"

"Hala, sige! Magsagutan tayo ng tanong dito," she sarcastically said, making me laugh.

"But seriously, if you don't want to be friends, then more than friends?" pang-aasar ko. I even moved my eyebrows up and down.

She looked at me, disgust on her face. "Ano ka? Speed? Ul*l! P*kening sh*t."

Napailing na lang ako habang natatawa. "I really can't do anything to your profanities, hmm?"

Sinamaan niya ako ng tingin. "Wala nga. Kulit mo ah." Muli siyang humarap sa labas ng bintana. "'Di mo pa 'ko sinasagot."

"Okay, fine. Tayo na," I seriously answered. And when I glanced at her, I died. I swear, her glares intensified. "Just kidding." I chuckled, trying to save myself from the grave. "But seriously, I'm not sure. But probably. I wouldn't want to be bedridden or locked in a room or hospital."

Randle seemed pleased with my answer. "Diba? I just hope they think like you so this wouldn't have been difficult for us," she mumbled before letting out a sigh.

After more or less than an hour and a half, we finally reached our destination. "Come on, kain na tayo ng tanghalian."

"Anong kakainin natin dito?"

When we finally entered the eatery, I looked for a table and pulled out a chair for her. "Well, San Pablo is known for their Pinayti."

I sat on the chair across from her. "Pinayti?"

I nodded my head. "It's a shrimp dish."

"Masarap?

I chuckled once again. Why am I finding her reactions adorable? "Honestly, this will be my first time tasting it."

Napatango naman siya. "Ba't alam mo?"

Tumingin naman ako sa kaniya saka ngumiti. "I did some research on the best delicacies in Luzon. I do want to be sure of our itineraries for the success of your bucket list and our little road trip."

Randle and I were waiting for the order when she took out her notebook and another piece of paper. I think I could trust you with my bucket list based on what you just said."

There are nine activities on that list and we were able to complete the get a tattoo one. Our food trip is also starting now, so... seven more to go. "Thank you for the trust."

We both enjoyed the food and left for two other cities to have our meryenda and dinner.

"Why are you so mean?" I couldn't help but ask as I glared at her, and, of course, she gave me back the glare.

Imagine, you're letting go of the chance to capture this masterpiece." I even pointed at myself.

Mas lalong sumama ang tingin niya sa akin and suddenly, I just found her grumpy face cute, which made me smile. "Ano na namang nginingiti mo riyan? Siraulo ka na ba?"

I just laughed before taking a photo of us while we're still on the table, having dinner. "Come on. Lahat nakasimangot."

Randle rolled her eyes on me. "Kung hindi mo sana kinukuha yung camera ko, at kung ako ang kumukuha ng picture, edi sana nakangiti ako, diba?" she sarcastically retorted back.

I slowly shook my head. She's insulting me and yet, I don't feel insulted at all. I chuckled. Something is definitely wrong with me.

When the day finally ended, we both agreed to occupy two rooms at a nearby motel.

"Goodnight," I said while holding the doorknob of my room beside hers. "Hope you had fun today."

"Yeah... I had fun. Thanks." I could feel that she had something else to say so I waited patiently. "How... about you?"

For some unknown reason, she couldn't look at me which made my smile grow wider. "I had fun as well. We still have two more days for this food trip."

Napatango naman siya saka ngumiti. "Can't wait." "Nighty night, Bryle."

I never knew that saying my name would affect me so much so I just nod my head, gripping a little harder on the doorknob, before clearing my throat to calm myself. "Goodnight, Randle."
