CHAPTER SIXTEEN

BRYLE'S POV

Bucket list: Camp outside.

I gave myself a pat on the back when I saw how happy she was with the place and snow.

She nodded her head and took her bags before sprinting towards the cabin. The cabin had a warm and homey vibe. And as usual, two bedrooms for the both of us, a mini kitchen, a comfort room, a small living room, and a balcony. There's also a fireplace and a mini backyard filled with firewoods.

"You like it?" Even though it was pretty obvious on her face, I just had to ask.

Randle nodded tons of times while her eyes kept on wandering around the place. "Hell, yeah. I'm f*cking in love with this place."

Our faces were so close that my eyes settled on her lips. "I really have to do something to that mouth of yours." I couldn't help but tease her.

And of course, Randle rolled her eyes. "You... are being a bully these past few weeks."

I let out a chuckle. "I think you like it when I'm like this."

"Shut the hell up. I'm unpacking my stuff." She proceeded to her room and closed the door.

I just shook my head with a smile on my face. "Adorable."

We both got busy for almost an hour settling our stuff and roaming around the cabin before I opened up the other goals that we'll do here in Japan.

I comfortably put my arm over her shoulders. "So ano? Bili na muna tayo ng mga gamit?"

Randle nodded her head while her eyes sparkled as she stared at the snow pile outside. "It would be my first time to do this."

Or at least, overnights or gala with your friends?"

She shook her head. "I... was not that friendly when I was a kid. I only had Leah and my mom. Then upon reaching high school, or well... At the age of fifteen, I was diagnosed with this." Randle let out a humorless chuckle. "So yeah... I never camped outside the house."

"Then let's go out now. Para makapag-set up agad tayo pag-uwi." Randle quickly agreed to the idea and both of us got inside the car and went to the nearest shop where we could buy the camping equipment.

I knew that it would have been easier if I just asked someone to buy them for us so we'll have them once we got in the cabin, but I also knew that Randle would enjoy it more if we were able to buy them ourselves.

It took us almost three hours before we were able to go back to the cabin. Besides, Randle was craving for sushi and maki, and I wanted some ramen.

"So... I'll set up the tent, and you'll handle the fire, got it?" she commanded. Napangiti naman ako saka sumunod.

I knew she could do it and if ever she'll ask for help, that means she has already tried everything already but can't do it. But I was close to finishing the campfire set up when she went beside me and pointed to the tent.

"All done." She had her genuine smile plastered on her face, making me congratulate myself for letting her do that on her own.

"Afraid that you'll end up burning our dinner?"

Sinamaan niya naman ako ng tingin. "Shut the f*ck up.

I laughed a little as I went inside the cabin to prepare our food.

And her initial reaction? Rolling her eyes. "Ano na naman?"

I chuckled. "Crush mo na naman ako, 'no?"

She scoffed. "Neknek mo."

Even though it's freezing outside.

When I went outside the cabin, I saw Randle sitting on the log in front of the campfire. I sat beside her and enjoyed the comfortable silence surrounding us.

Pareho kaming nakatingala sa langit. It has already stopped snowing and the stars are already shining in the sky. "Ang ganda ng langit, 'no?"

My eyes did not leave the starry night sky. "Yeah... It's beautiful." Another moment of silence wrapped around us until her alarm went off. Both of us looked at her phone that she had just taken out from her jacket pocket.

"I think... I should head inside in the meantime," she whispered but I heard it well.

Randle was about to stand up when I carefully grabbed her hand. "I'm just curious... Are there times when you don't have attacks?"

Napaisip naman siya saka tumango. "Yeah... Pero minsan lang."

"Do you think... you might not have one... tonight?" I carefully asked.

Napakunot naman ang noo niya. "Why?"

I let her hand go and shrugged. "I don't know. Just hoping tonight's a lucky night."

"I... actually just wanna say something to you. And I think it's the perfect time and place," panimula ko. I slowly reached for her hand as I stare at her, making her look at me. "I know you didn't want me to, but unfortunately, this stubborn part of my body wants you." I carefully cupped her cheek as I stare deep into her eyes, filled with mixed emotions. "What I'm saying is that during the months we spent together... Randle Anne Irrah G. Miñoza, I have fallen deeply and irrevocably for you." My body moved on its own as my face leaned closer to hers. "Randle? I want to do it properly this time."

Finally... Our lips met once again.
