While everyone was at work, Kylie and Jack spent the day touring around Ceduna. It was yet another excuse for Jack to dazzle Kylie with his stories of Jen, Stan and Paige. It was incredible how much Jack could remember, considering he frequently struggled to remember as a result of his coma from four years ago. Kylie didn't say as much to him, certain that if she did bring this up, it would upset Jack and that was the last thing she wanted to do right now. So, she strolled along the beach, her thongs in hand, feeling the warm sand caress her feet with every step and listened to Jack's stories.

As they made their way back to the car, Kylie noticed she had a message from Jenny, inviting them to dinner at her place tonight as Bryce had the night off.

Kylie quickly replied asking what time to come over and they suddenly made a beeline back to Rick and Nadine's place to get changed, joking the whole time about the trail of sand they would leave behind them.

Despite his best efforts, Jack had failed to convince Kylie that she wasn't showing beneath her maxi dress that she finally decided to wear to Bryce and Jenny's for dinner that evening.

"But – look at me!" Kylie whined, standing in front of the bathroom mirror. They both knew that there was no set–in–stone time when Kylie would start showing, but even Jack couldn't deny that Kylie now had a bump as she reached the fourteenth week.

"I am, Wombat. You're gorgeous."

"That's not what I'm talking about!" she cried, pouting and huffing, turning away from the mirror to find something else to wear. Jack stopped her, resting both hands on her shoulders, making her straighten up and face him.

"Kylie," he said pointedly with a smile, "yes, you're pregnant and yes, to me, you look it. To everyone outside this room, no you don't look pregnant. You are beautiful, even when you don't think you are, trust me. I know what I'm talking about. You look beautiful in that dress."

"But –"

"– but nothing, Kylie. You're gorgeous. You're beautiful. Plus, I'm pretty certain that you wouldn't be totally against someone asking if you are pregnant." Jack said with a smirk, which became wider when he could see Kylie's cheeks blush brightly. He cupped her face, his thumb stroking her cheek.

"I do sort of wish we didn't agree to keep it secret ..." she whispered back. He found her insatiably cute when she got herself worked up about looking pregnant when they were keeping that particular gem of news to themselves.

"Same here, love."

"Really?" Kylie asked, semi hopeful. The idea of being able to say 'I'm pregnant' to someone other than Jack – she thought of saying it to so many different people so many times now, imagining each person's reaction. But ... she liked knowing that there was only one person in the world who knew her biggest secret.

"Really – but we did agree ... besides, just think how fantastic it'll be to announce this," he dropped one hand from Kylie's shoulder to her stomach. "When our little Quokka starts to make their appearance," he could see Kylie turn an adorable shade of red and kissed her forehead.

"You're too cute for your own good, you know." Kylie muttered, trying to compose herself. Jack smirked, sliding on his shoes and asking if she was ready to go.

They pulled up in Bryce and Jenny's driveway; a beautiful modern designed house, with native plants sparsely spread across the small, manicured front lawn.

"Ready?" Jack asked Kylie, taking her hand in his and smiling at her.

"I'm ready – it's just tea, after all."
