I looked around, helpless.  The Nuclear atom bomb was burning through the sky like a falcon on fire.  A very dangerous falcon.  It was spiraling towards me, everyone with sense was rushing for the tunnel entrance.  They knew, as I did, that they’d only be safe in the underground city the government had built for this moment.  I knew joining the crowd was the only way to see my next birthday, but my legs were rooted to the spot.  I could hear someone screaming, I realised that my own mouth was open making the terrified noise.  I couldn’t stop staring at the approaching bomb, which would mean my destruction.  The petrol station exploded with a yellow, blinding light, burning along the stream of oil leaked from the diesel taps.  This brought me back to my burning senses.  I ran towards the tunnel, just in time too.  The nearby electricity pylon crashed onto the ground where I’d been standing.  A crackling, white, forking line of electricity ran along the wires.  I yelped, and then resumed running, a new fear was born in my stomach.  I made it to the queue of desperate people, pushing to get into the tunnel.  I was panicking, ‘Please let me get in!  Please!’  The body heat of all these different people hit me, fear was hot.  I heard a gunshot behind me, a drunken man was firing at the bomb, the bullets shot out with force but didn’t even reach the bomb and fell to the hot ground.  He was laughing and hiccupping.  The sight made me want to vomit.  It was getting hotter as the bomb got closer, I presume generating heat.  It was so close now, I’d almost given up hope when the crowd fell forward and I was in the tunnel.  People were lying on the ground, dazed, but I was up like I’d been electrocuted.  I ran for the end of the tunnel, wanting to be as far from the bomb as I could be.  I got the impression of a huge city, lit by burning coal before a tremendous BOOM echoed around the tunnel, as a bright, white, blinding light rushed towards me and an unbearable heat embraced me.  Then I fell to the floor and black engulfed me.
