Chapter 40

I checked my phone and there was a new text. I expected it to be Grayson, but it wasn't him. It was Ethan.

Ethan: I saw what happened. Can I come over?

Me: yeah the front doors open. im in my room...

I layed in my bed under my covers. My front door opened and closed two minutes later. I didn't even bother to get up.

"Hey Jess." He came and sat down in my bed next to me.

Just looking at him made me think of Grayson. I started to tear up.

"Don't cry. I know he messed up, but I think he's telling the truth. He loves you." His voice sounded empty.

"I don't even know what to think, Ethan. Maybe this is a sign. I might just need a break from this all."

He frowned. "I should get going..." he said, combing his fingers through his hair.

"I'll walk you out" I offered, following him downstairs. He hugged me and opened the door, starting to leave. He stepped halfway outside but turned around.

Within a second, he pushed me against the wall planted his lips on mine. "God, I've been wanting to do that for a while." He said and walked back outside closing the door behind him, leaving me speechless.
