High school. All the movies the pack and I watched about it don't give it justice. The smells alone. Let's just say if any one of them were werewolves I-I'd be concerned.

I walk my way to the office. I knock and look around.

Some tall guy with a varsity basketball jacket bumps into me. "Watch it, Freshman." I bite back a gag. Does he know one can use deodorant?

As he rounds the corner a blond woman rushes to the door of the office. She fumbles the keys on her lanyard. She smells like pine and peppermint. "Sorry, there was an accident on my road and-."

I cut in and catch the folder that starts to fall out of her hands. "Shi-Stuff happens, I get it. Here." I grab the rest of the folders. "Now you have less to worry about." I look over at her. Lean build. Delicate hands. Not a threat. Name tag that reads Malli.

She unlocks the door and holds it open for me. I walk in and set the folders on the desk with her nameplate. "So how exactly does this work. I've been homeschooled all my life. So... yeah."

"Right you missed orientation. Right?" Malli cringes slightly.

What did Roan tell me to say? "Y-yeah." I rub the back of my neck. "It was a-" Mountain accident? No. "Hicking accident. That landed me in the ve-hospital." Do not say, VET.

"By the first Spinjitsu master! Are you okay?"

"Well, my thigh is healed. And my back is almost there." Takes a while for a silver scythe coated in wolves bane to heal. "So I'm gonna go with yes."

"I'm sorry that happened. Do you need me to sign off on recovery time?" Miss Malli pull out a sheet of paper.

"No!" I'll be healed up in a week anyways. "I don't want to miss this opportunity."

She gives me a weird look.

I have to wrap this up. "Doctor J. said I would be healed up by the end of next week. Can I get my schedule? I don't want to be late."

Malli seems reluctant for a moment but she sighs and puts the paper away. "Y/N Stall was it?"

I nod with a smile. "Yes, mam." Took forever to get used to that name.

Her brows scrunch as she read my paper. "It says your Guardian is, Roan Stall, from-" She swallows and looks up at me timidly, "From Stiix."

A glare settles on my face. "People can't control where they're born." Or what they're born as. "My guardian has passed the school's extensive background check." I slam my hands on her desk and lean over to look her in the eyes. "Let's just skip to the point where you give me a schedule yeah?"

She shrinks in on herself and holds out a schedule with shaking hands. "I'm sorry I-"

I snatch it out of her hands. "Save it. You city pricks are all the same." I turn to leave the office. I make sure not to slam the door too hard. The last thing I need to be known for is being the girl from Stiix who could rip a door off its hinges.

I walk past a lanky brunet heading to the office. His head is held high, like an alpha. He has a fast Build. Another person that doesn't know you don't need the whole bottle of perfume.

I then run into a blond kid with vibrant green eyes. His eyes meet my glare and he shrinks in on himself. "Sorry."

Oh by the Lunar Goddess. "No, I-" I take a deep breath and relax my posture. "I should be the one to apologize. I ran into you. You good?"

"Uh- I," He mumbles looking around. "Yeah."

I look around to see everyone glaring. What? Why are they glaring, the way the hunters glare at their prey? "So where are you heading? I'll walk you." I look him over. Baggy clothes. Threat level undetermined. Black Jeans, a dark green hoodie, and a heavy-duty black backpack. He smells like the pure essence of nature... Odd.

"I don't think that's-" He looks around at everyone staring at us. "A great idea."

I smile at him gently. "So where are we going?" If I were a regular human I would not have even heard him. So I'll just pretend I didn't.

He answers louder than before. "The office."

My smile gets a little tight. "I'll walk you. If you want."

"I don't actually know where it is. I should have memorized the layout but Sen-" A brief look of panic crosses his face. "Something came up!" Loudest I've heard him, so far.

"The office is this way." I point over my shoulder. I turn around and beckon to him. "Come on."

We walk to the office in silence. And by that I mean we didn't say anything. Everyone else on the other hand. Muttering throughout the halls was hard to pick up. We make it to the door of the office.

Only to have the brunette I saw earlier run into me as he left the office. His nails and fangs get longer for a split second. "Careful with that one," His voice is so quiet I almost missed it.

Wait a minute. He's a-? I turn around to see the brunet glaring down at the blond.

"Hey, Chen how's it going?" The green boy's smile matches his strained voice.

'Chen' scoffs and walks away. A vampire. No that's not right The vampire fits better. I wonder if his natural scent is super strong.

A quiet, "Come in," sounds from behind the door.

"Sounds like she's ready for you. I'll see you around?" I offer my hand to him. Let's test how strong you are. See if Chen was right.

"Sure." He shakes my hand. The grip of a fighter. I can even feel callouses.

There's no denying it now. I'm sure. He's a Hunter.

The closer we are to danger the farther we are from harm. That's what Roan said. This means my next step is befriending him.

He goes into the office and I walk away. So what is the first thing you do when befriending someone? Right, introduce yourself. I stop in my tracks and glare at the ceiling. I forgot to ask his name!
