Author's Note: Here is chapter twelve of To Be Loved By You! I'm excited for this one guys - big things happen! No picture of Rooster this time because I wanted you to be able to listen to the song Thea and Logan sing in this chapter. For the purpose of the story, I say that Thea wrote it but it really belongs to Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester - I do not own Give Into Me.

Ya'll this story has almost 3,000 views and I am absolutely blown away! Thank you so much!

Happy reading!

Brad pulled onto the street Thea's parents lived on but wasn't able to park near their house. The cars littering the street were a testament to just how many people were going to be at the gathering that night. When he had parked his Bronco, he wiped his hands on the denim of his jeans.

"Brad?" Thea's hand rested on one of his, stilling its movement. "You okay?"

She was smiling sweetly at him and it was hard to remember why he was so nervous. "Yeah." He hadn't had to meet a girlfriend's family since his high school girlfriend, Nancy. He'd had a couple of girlfriends since joining the Navy but they were soldiers, too, and hadn't been stationed near their families. And he hadn't been as serious about them as he was about Thea.

He wanted this to go well.

"Hey." Her fingers brushed his face, bringing his attention to her. "It's going to be great. You don't have to be nervous."

He tried to smile confidently but wasn't sure he succeeded. "I'm not nervous." He looked toward the house down the street and could see Miss Gwen welcoming people into the house. He was nervous.

"Of course not." She smirked up at him from her seat. "But if you were nervous, I'd remind you that Logan and Stef will be here and you've already met my parents."

Groaning, he let his head fall against the headrest. If he had to pick one thing he was most nervous about, it would be her parents. She was right; he'd met and spoken with her parents at the bar, but this was different. At the bar, he was just another patron and the extent of his interaction with them was pleasantries and ordering drinks.

Tonight, he was a guest in their home. He felt like he needed to impress them because he knew Thea was very close to them and their opinion meant a lot to her.

She laughed as she took his hand and interlocked their fingers. "Don't worry, okay? Pop already likes you."

"And your mom," he asked.

"Thinks you're a perfect gentleman."

He looked at her then, reading between the lines. "But doesn't like what we're doing?"

She shrugged. "She's just worried. It doesn't mean she doesn't like you though." She smiled brightly at him. "Besides, you're forgetting the most important thing about tonight."

"What's that?"

Leaning across the console, she pecked his lips. "I'm going to be there and I really like you."

He couldn't help the smile that spread across his lips. "You make a good point, sweetheart."

"I know!" She reached for him, kissing him again, and let her lips linger on his a moment. When she pulled away, she looked up at him and the look in her eyes made his breath catch in his throat. He couldn't quite place it, but it looked akin to love, and he wanted her to always look at him like that. "Ready?"

Brad took a deep breath and let it go. With her smiling next to him, he felt ready for anything. He nodded. "Let's go." He met her at her side of the Bronco and took her hand, walking with her up the street.
