Ask: Aizawa depression
Any hc's of Aizawa and his s/o helping each other through depression? I'm pretty sure he has it
I had done one for Alucard of Hellsing so one for Aizawa is a must. People who don't suffer from depression have no clue what it is like.
•Shouta most likely suffers from PTSD between losing Loud Cloud as a teenager,USJ attack and his confrontation with Shigaraki. This will cause depression, hypervigilance, nightmares and insomnia in him.
•You will have to help him realize he can express his pain. Japan is not great on treating depression and still has high suicide rate. Suicide Forest ring any bells? He will do everything above and beyond for you but not take care of himself.
•After his confrontation with Tomura, he lost his lower leg, his right eye and most of the strength of his quirk. He did PT for his artificial leg. Yet the loss of sight in his right meant retraining himself for loss of depth perception. Shouta is well aware he's changed but not for the better as a hero.
Since depression brings many terrible things to your life, here is a list of things he would try to do or has become aware of to help you.
•any tea that will help calm not only your body but your mind. Many don't realize that insomnia and nightmares can have a huge effect. It helps to calm the urge of fixation though not a complete cure.
•He would suggest herbal assistance. Things like St. John's wort for depression or kava kava for sleep. Any Japanese remedies.
•If you felt a need to get medical and modern prescriptions, Shouta would find you the best professional help. That includes a psychologist to maybe talk to and a psychiatrist for knowing better what medicines and side effects the drugs have.
To find out if you have reactions to certain families of mental health drugs like lorazepam and Clonazepam. Often one is allergic to all in what is known as drug families.
• He would have an ever vigilant watch to see if the meds make you worse and not better. His best side help would be Recovery Girl as her kiss can't heal everything so she has other suggestions.
•If you do decide to find a psychologist, he would ask if you wanted him to attend sessions so he too can learn the coping help for anxiety, racing of your heart, dark thoughts that plague you and such.
It might do him some good too.
•Finding out if reading your favorite books helps you fall asleep. His gravelly voice eases you into sleep by reading to you. Getting favorite movies and watching them with you in bed.
•Finding music that doesn't feed your depression. Now is not the time for Guns n Roses songs or Metallica (your versions of such bands) It doesn't have to be la la happy stuff.
Maybe just some meditation music. Shouta will show you how to meditate including the whirling thoughts that make it hard to do meditation.
•Aizawa helps you both to eat better. Wait gain only makes you feel worse so moderation. A possible childhood treat that has your mind focused on how it made good memories for you instead of sorrow.
This includes a mini fridge with cold water and nibbling foods that entices you to try and eat, to get enough fluids.
•A fuzzy warm blanket, electric heating as it helps with your menses too.
•A weighted blanket to see if it will help settle you.
•Shouta would leave you a favorite shirt to sleep in when he's out on patrol. Aizawa makes sure to have placed his "scent" so your subconscious knows this. You probably can smell "him" already as you steal the main pillows of the bed the side he sleeps on.
•Aizawa would talk with you about physical touch. He would learn to be patient when your mind battles being held and the "Don't touch me" battle.
•Neck, shoulders and body massages to ease your tense muscles that give you pain from being so tight and to help with headaches.
Shared massages are the best of all.
•Your body, back to chest being held with his body engulfing body and limbs but not in a scary way. His chest or strong arms are your Klenex for your tears. He struggles with the more unreasonable anger but will try not to get his emotions triggered in not a good way.
Hygiene-related:
•He would help you in the shower. His strong fingers work your hair as he washes it. He will use a conditioner too. The hot/warm water eases your muscles and the assistance pampering is wonderful. That includes just being held under the warm water.
•The changing of sheets more often. Warm sheets on the bed that you climb into.
•Aizawa, as stated, is more about you and your body than himself. Don't let him neglect himself. You know he suffers from many of the same symptoms you do, most likely from ptsd.
•So as a couple you find what seems to help cope with this serious mental condition. That pampering isn't making you weak in his eyes. He probably knew someone that committed suicide, so its his way of saving you when he had not been able to help someone, in the past.
Remember your life does matter to him most of all...
