They head into the dinning room his mom says "Lexi I called your dad so you could stay the night" she gasps "w-what no no he'll hurt me no no" his mom say "no hey he won't hurt you you're okay" she backs away and hides in a corner she whispers "no no I'm sorry no no" her dad comes through the door and yells "LEXI WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING" Alex's dad comes running "Hey what's going on here, who are you" Lexi crys "dad don't I'm sorry please don't" her dad goes up to her and kicks her Alex runs after after her and yells "STOP GET AWAY FROM HER" Lexi crys out from the pain she knew her dad was wearing steel toed boots again.
Alex and his mom picked her up and took her to his room all you heard was his dad yelling at her dad "LEAVE HER ALONE SHE DID NOTHING WRONG" Alex's mom calls the cops and 9-1-1 while Alex try to comfort her and help her he says "Baby are you okay what hurts" blood pools in the side of her shirt she winces he yells "MOM SHE'S BLEEDING" The cops and EMTS arrive the EMTS say "He broke her ribs hard enough impact broke her ribs he was most likely wearing steel toed boots when he kicked her" she winces as a tear rolls down her cheek and says "i-im sorry… I tried" his mom says "They took him away for child abuse for 3 years, shes 16 now so by the time he gets out she'll be moved out and a restraining order will be filed against him to protect her".
The EMTS left and everything got quiet. Alex and Lexi we're cuddling and watching a movie. Alex kissed her head and said " How ya feelin honey? " She smiles and says "Better than before I guess" she puts her head on his chest, his heart beats a little faster than normal she looks up and says "Baby are you okay? " he says looking from the movie to her light blue sweet eyes and he says "yeah princess why do you ask? " she says "your heart beats faster than normal" he smiles and pulls her closer he says "I'm sure I'm fine baby" she snuggles closer to him and slowly drifts off to sleep he kisses her head and says "goodnight babygirl I love you sweet dreams, you're gonna be okay I'm right here to protect you I promise".
