By Merlin's beard of luck Sirius didn't get put in a group with Fiona, but James did.
Instead he was stuck with a mouthful of his cousin Amelia Lestrange who was gushing over the scent of lily's new perfume which ironically smelt of lilies.
Which he already knew as it was James's biggest irony to talk about.
While also getting the biggest side eye from James, as if he was the only one annoyed with the predicament that they had been put in with the groups. James was literally with Remus and Sirius's wife and HE was the one silently complaining cause he was over one meter away from the one and only lily Evans.
Amelia pulled him out of his staring contest with James with a sarcastic remark about him cheating on Fiona with James by eye fucking him which also drew the icy eyes of his wife to his table when she heard her name being mentioned. She looked sternly at Amelia her eyes not wavering one bit away from her target as if she wanted to avoid looking anywhere near Sirius.
This made his heart ache as he looked at her directly but she couldn't even look slightly in his direction it was as if he was the one who had wronged her, his eyes begged for hers to move slightly to the right from Amelia's to his but they didn't move one inch but except to look back at the teacher when he continued his lesson. As the class went on Sirius black couldn't help but think that he was missing something, she really couldn't even spare him a glance and he felt so hurt about that, like his chest was tightening in on him so much it would eventually burst.
As the class ended he attempted to make his way to her but she quickly packed her bag and left the class not even waiting for Amelia to follow her out. She sped through the corridors weaving in and out of the groups of students filling up the hallway. She kept walking and before she knew it she was next to the black lake. Ironic. Huh.
Amelia followed her into the forest and finally caught up with her friend as she was leaning against a tree. "Real nice of you to wait for me. I also think it's a great idea to be skipping the second class of the term." Amelia approached her slowly as she didn't hear a sarcastic reply come from her best friend. She put her bag down on the ground and sat next to her . "Hey what's wrong? You can talk to me you know."
Fiona turned her head around to look at her friend, her eyes felt stingy like something had gotten in them to make them tear up, at least that's what she was telling herself. "Yeah, I know, I just couldn't even look at him." Fiona turned back to look across the lake as Amelia put her arm around her, understanding the situation completely. "My plan was to confront him and talk this through as soon as we were in close quarters but as soon as I saw him I froze all I did was ignore him and run away like a coward."
"Hey you're not a coward okay? Look at me fee." Amelia pulled Fiona's face to look at hers with both her now cold hands due to the weather. " You are definitely not a coward you are one of the strongest people I know. You were able to defy the odds, to escape your family and help me escape mine. You're not a coward Fiona you're my hero."
"Thanks, me me" whispered Fiona as she pulled Amelia into a tight hug before standing up and reaching a her hand down to Amelia. " Well we better hurry up, missing the whole morning on our first day might get us a detention"
"Oh, no we already have a detention mgonalgall's going to be on this like a hippogriff on a ferret. But yeah the longer we're away the worse it's going to be I guess." Amelia pulled herself off before dragging Fiona up the hill as she ran back to the castle.
While Fiona was having her therapy session from her best friend by the black lake so was sirius while he was supposed to be listening to magonagols transfiguration lesson he was instead getting hyped up by his one and only hype man James potter.
" It's okay did she dosent know what shes missing and you have seen eachother in years she may not even have recognised you ." James said trying to get rid of Sirius's nerves while giving him a back massage.
" No that's not right she totally did, she was purposely looking everywhere but me she knew exactly where I was, who I was and she was outright avoiding me. "
"Well then there's only one answer to it" a voice came from over his shoulder
"What's that?"
"You pissed her of" James gave him a look of disappointment before shrugging his shoulder.
" I What!?" Sirius shouted gaining the attention of the whole class his lack of filter really showing.
" I expect you to take your conversations out of the class Mr black." Professor mgonagall shouted from the front of the class.
"Sorry professor" Sirius mumbled while squatting James off of his back, " it won't happen again"
" I hope it wouldn't, now class..."
Sirius waited a minute until the class was in full motion to turn around to look at James on the desk behind him.
" How could I piss her off I've not seen her in ages."
" I don't know man, but what I do know is when a girl is pissed off. Done it to lily enough to know what it looks like." James smiles as his says her name.
" Of course you have" Sirius rolled his eyes turning back to the front.
"Maybe he's right" Remus's voice came from next to him. " Eventhough you've not seen her in years, I doubt she wants to be married at the ripe age of sixteen and as she sees it you're part of the problem. Being as it is you shes married to."
" But I didn't force her I didn't even sign the papers." Sirius whispered to Remus next to him, careful not to draw the attention of the professor again.
" Does she know that?"
