My POV
I rewound the music box, the only thing I had left of my mother, singing along with the tune.
Dad said I was a spitting image of her. My mother was a Siren who had died giving birth to me. But my father was glad, always joking that he never wanted me to look as 'hideous' as he did. My father was the captain of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones. My father always said the reason I was named Jade was how beautiful my green eyes were.
Growing up, I was raised like a pirate. However, when I started showing more traits towards my mother, he became protective. He brought me to my mother's tribe, and I learned all about being part Siren. When I turned 16, I would find my mate, someone I'd be with forever. I also could use the Siren's song, being able to lull people with my singing. Despite being a villain, dad did love me. He never forgot a birthday, and he always told me stories of the sea.
When we were little, all the VK kids were friends. Mal, Carlos, Jay, Evie, Uma, Gil, Harry, and I were as thick as thieves. But Mal and Uma had a falling out, and the friendship divided. Gil and Harry stayed with Uma while Jay, Carlos, and Evie stayed with Mal. For a while, I tried to get everyone back together like old times.
Mal understood it was harder for me to decide, since I loved hanging out with everyone. But more importantly, that I had the largest crush on Harry. Uma, on the other hand, didn't care about my 'feelings', and wanted to claim all the pirate kids under her command. When it came time for me to choose, I was going to choose Uma, knowing it would be the only way to be with Harry. But when I walked onto her ship, seeing her pick Harry as her first mate, him gushing over her... I joined Mal's side with a broken heart.
The last time I saw Harry was when I had turned 16 and had gone to Pirate's cove to visit my father.
I was walking back, when I heard the screams. I kept my head down, knowing who it was, until a hand grabbed my arm and made me freeze.
"Hello, lass." His Scottish accent brought tears to my eyes as I looked up, meeting his blueish-grey eyes. My heart broke more. It was just like my dad said.
'You'll know when you find your true love. Everything will make sense in the world. The heavy burden will lift from your shoulders and when you stare into their eyes, you'll just know.'
"Hi Harry." My voice croaked. Dammit, I will not cry.
His grin left his face, his eyes flashing with concern. But Harry was never one to act on his feelings. He even said it himself one time when we were younger. 'Love is weak and ridiculous. All you need in life is fear, lass.' Before Harry could even get a word in, I yanked my hand out of his grasp and turned, running away. I stopped at the end of the market, turning my head to see Harry still standing exactly where he was, his eyes full of sorrow.
That was a year ago, and I never saw him again. My heart was broken and empty, always wondering 'What if'.
When Mal's mom told the five of us we were going to Auradon, Mal and the others weren't thrilled, but I shrugged my shoulders indifferently. Anything to get away from my broken heart.

Harry POV
"You miss her?" I looked behind to see Gil walking up. I scowled, rolling my eyes before looking back out at the sea. Every day. But I was a coward, who couldn't face her and tell her how I felt. That love was no longer weak and ridiculous, because I had fallen for her.

My POV
"She's getting overwhelmed Evie." I said, flipping through a book as Evie helped Mal with another fitting. Blue and Yellow? Seriously? Mal sent me a smile, and I nodded. I felt bad for her.
It was a crazy past few months. First the whole 'Steal Fairy Godmother's wand'. Then Mal fell in love with Ben. Sure. Did she at first not like him and just gave him a love spell? Yes. But I was thrilled when she told me her true feelings for him. Then the whole coronation with Jane jealous, and then her mother appearing and us having to fight her mother. Did I mention her mom turned into a lizard after that?
Everyone was expecting the craziness of her dating Ben, who was now king, but she wasn't used to all the attention and I could see it was getting too much for her. On the way to class, we bumped into Jane, who started hammering out questions to Mal for the ball. Mal was getting overwhelmed again, her eyes glowing green.
"Jane. Pen toppers." I said. I placed a hand on Mal's shoulder to calm her down.
"Yeah? Mal, you won't regret it!" Jane said before running off to see Ben.
"You alright?" I looked at Mal, who held her head.
"Y-yea. Thanks."
All I could hope for was that she'd know we were here for her.
