Chapter 3

My POV

"Who else knows about the crown and scepter?" Evie asked.

"No one. I mean, think about it, people are scared enough as it is." Mal said.

"Will this delay bringing over more VK kids?" I asked, leaning against the door frame, frowning.

"We're talking about closing the barrier for good." What?!

"Well, you said no, right?" Evie asked. "What, we never get to go back and see our parents?" Will I never see Harry again? Or my dad?

"Jade! You coming?" I shook myself out of my thoughts, seeing the girls waiting by the door, and I nodded with a smile. It was amazing what Carlos was doing for Jane's birthday and I was packing the baskets. Everyone stopped what they were doing and ran outside after hearing shouting, seeing Audrey there and Mal, who was now cursed as an old Hag.

"Audrey!" I drew my sword, but a cloud of smoke surrounded her as she laughed.

"So long suckers!" Coming up with a plan to stop Audrey and get Mal back to her original form, Mal looked at Evie and I.

"How bad is it?" Mal asked.

"You...uh-"

"Age beautifully." Evie said, finishing for me. "Now come on, let's get you into something more fabulous." Evie said, walking off. Mal walking a lot slower because of her age. I grabbed her hand and tried helping her move faster. Carlos walked up to me, looking nervous.

"Could you actually stay here? Make sure Jane is safe?" Carlos asked, and I bit my lip. I was kind of hoping to see Harry again. "Please? I-I'll even tell Harry you said hi."

"Alright, alright. Go on, I'll monitor things. And you better tell him, making me miss out on seeing him." I playfully pouted and waved goodbye before heading to the enchanted lake.

"Sorry! Sorry I'm late!" I huffed, joining Jane. "Slight bump this morning. Everyone is going to join later. Carlos says happy birthday and just wants everything perfect." I grinned, and Jane raised an eyebrow. Hearing Audrey singing, I looked up, seeing pink smoke surrounding everyone, and I panicked, drawing my sword.

"Jane!?" I grabbed her hand, keeping her behind me.

"Look!" She pointed to everyone falling asleep, and I looked around at the fog coming closer. "The Enchanted Lake!" We both ran into the water and held our breath, watching the fog roll over until it cleared. After a few minutes, we both swam to shore, gasping for air as Jane helped me up.

"A slight bump, huh?" Jane asked, grabbing a towel for me and her as I shrugged.

"Carlos didn't want to freak you out." Jane gave Ben a call to warn Ben before we ran to go see how bad it was.

Harry POV

"Oh! Harry." I turned, seeing Carlos walking next to me, and I hummed.

"What do ye want?"

"Jade says hey, and that she misses you." I stopped, turning to face him, and held my hook out.

"You think this is funny? Playing with my emotions!?"

"No, no! It's true! She wanted to come with but I asked her to stay behind. Told her if I saw you I'd say hi." Darling was thinking about me?

"She better be ok." I said.

"Dont worry Harry, we'll find her." Uma said.
