The device in my back pocket stop buzzing when the thing went out of my view. I guess it was warning me of something. That must mean the times it buzzed before, that thing must have been there.
Then I felt the device slip out of my pocket. My hand instinctively move to where the pocket it but I felt a hand. Dwight had gotten to it first.
“You kept it?” Dwight hissed. I could imagine Dwight's disappointed face.
“I couldn't just leave it there. I mean maybe it's important. We don't know?” I argued, it came out as more of a whimper.
“We don't know what it is. It could be something illegal, Ally.”
Dwight stares at the device then it shocked him. Dwight cursed and roughly handed me the device. The device didn't shock me, which a part of me finds funny.
Suddenly the table on top of us disappear into thin air followed by the sickening crack. I let out a scream.
The thing was in front of us. Strike that. He's on top of us.
I felt a cold metal hand grip me by the collar of my shirt. Then I found myself floating. My feet didn't touch the ground. The thing holds me up in the air without much effort. I was face to face with it. I struggled out of his grip but to no avail. I kicked him where the sun didn't shine but he didn't even flinch. The only one who got hurt was me.
Where Dwight right now?
I heard a robotic laugh coming from it. “Keep fighting little cockroach. Give me the time suit. Struggle all you want, you can't do anything to me.” it taunts.
“But I can.” Dwight's voice interrupts it. I heard a metallic clank and the thing lets me go. I scramble to get away from it. Dwight had hit it with some metallic object.
I heard a robotic grunt coming from the thing. From the silhouettes, the thing was higher than Dwight. The thing looks at Dwight.
“You little fucker.” the robot thing swore. Dwight backs up and it steps closer to him. It was ready to pounce towards Dwight when a buzzing sound catches its attention. It sounded like a buzzing of a drone.
Its figure suddenly flew out of my view. Like it got blasted away. There was a gunshot style sound but sounded like it came out of a radio. The crackle and hiss of an old radio. Taking the opportunity, I ran behind Dwight.
Then something catches my attention. A floating blue orb. The blue look a lot like the blue of the device in my hand. I guess that's the drone. It buzzed around the room like a fly
The thing now was firing at the orb. It missed a lot. And when it did hit, the orb shuddered and turned red but it kept on flying.
Dwight pulled me away from the robot and the orb fighting. We were heading to a window. Behind us, I could hear some small explosions.
“Up there!” Dwight said. “C'mon”. Dwight's crouch down. I stare at him, uncertain. I look around and saw the figure of the robot fighting the orb like it's fighting off a fly. I look back to Dwight.
I sighed. “Dwight-”
“No” He curtly said.
“But”
“That thing I clearly stronger than us. You wanna place your bets on defeating that thing?” He argued.
“No-”
“Then let's go.”
I sighed again. I prepared myself to get up on the crouching boy in front of me. I took a deep breath.
I wanted to do something about the robot thing. Maybe the device could help. But I do not know how to use it. Heck, I don't even know what it is. The robot thing said that it is a time suit. What does he mean by that?
That strange feeling when I first have the device came back. It's a strange feeling. If I can describe it in a single word. It would be destiny. Destiny was calling me. Call me crazy but it really does feel like destiny.
And so, I followed that feeling. I stared at the device in my hand. I felt it shocking me but it wasn't painful. It's more of a tickle. Like feathers making circles on the palm of my hand.
I stared back at Dwight. I think he knows and he was about to say something when I bolted. I heard Dwight curse and ran to me.
I ran towards the robot or where I think it is. I try my hardest to about the tables and bags in my way.
Then I was face to face again with the robot. He looked at me, aiming something at my face. My heart beats faster.
“Ally!” Dwight shouts.
Suddenly I felt something cold and metallic wrap around my face. My vision is covered with blue. Then my vision turned white. My body felt lighter and my head starts to spin.
