The Kickboxing was a better way to express all the anger bottled up inside of him.
So each time he grabbed the keys to head out of the house, those smiles for Little One was not only aimed for her. But also a joy to empty his head.
This combative sport was basically all about punching with kicking and footwork all over the body whilst the boxing must land their punches on an opponent above the belt.
Was it safe ?
Nothing was, realistically. Yet his anger was above that. As long as he was feeling alone, having those suckers so called friends : his strength was. Comic to put it that way but his misery has made him stupid enough to make him good at one thing only.
The kickboxing.
So when the guy he used to talk to in his escapades at CKO Kickboxing Muerrieta asked him to teach him. He was caught off guard.
Manolo didn't have in his guts this amount of twisted emotions. He simply wasn't this type of guy. Even though they weren't what Manni used to call "friend" , that was some sure things he payed attention to.
So obviously his answer was :
- Nope.
- You're kidding.;.. Just like that ?
- Man, i don't owe you a shit. And i obviously don't have time to play the babysitter
- No, hear me out, it won't be so difficult. I know practically every techniques as you do.;..
- Okay but there's practically a titanic bridge between theory and practice. If you want something to brag about in your quarter, let's go for the first match. You will lose anyway whatever brilliant idea you pull up with. And it's in three weeks on top of that.
- Marvin. If i wanted to brag about anything i would have leaked already some information from those athletes in there to the press. I'm not asking you to participate on my behalf... But if i have any chance- even a tiny - to win this prize just to assure a better life for my siblings I will do whatever it takes.
Manni kept silence. Under the scrutiny of the glare of his friend, he finished his lunch. They've headed not far from the center. Despite the security facilities around the iconic tourist-traps "Hollywood" sign hill, the boys used to come in here, hidden on a side, half on top. Los Angeles was huge and diverse under their feet. Aside few famous sites, it wasn't possible to be oblivious of the homeless multiplying on streets. Money was everything, in the nick of time you can find yourself without a roof and a lot of debts. Still at the end of the day, rich or poor, you pay attention to your incomes in order to assure the next day.
Tossing the waste in his pocket, to throw it when they'll be back on the parking lot's bin, Manni jumped off of the car's roof. Manolo didn't add a thing for the rest of the route back. So, as soon as arrived at the center, he droped off without letting Manni utter word. With just a nod, he acted like nothing happened.
Even back into mom-lawyer-and-daddy-surgeon house, he spent some times with his sister, clearing his head from all the topic. Weither he helped Manolo, they both knew he was rigth about one thing. In three weeks as delay for training, he will lose. Spectacurlaly. Hence what he said wasn't mean or shady..;. Right?
- Manni, you're on the moon? Listen to me real quick, started Little One by putting her hand on her hips a scowl on her juvenile face.
- Yeah right, sorry. What were you saying again?
The baby girl rolled her eyes sighed loudely. But of course it was just an act, she was content to talk again and again..;. About her. So she came again. Only Candece's laughter long after distracted the big brother who asked finally:
- Hey Isa, do you know what makes Candece so happy today?
- I don't know she's with daddy, answered absently the girl focused on her show.
- ..;. And is daddy at home often..;.?
- No, he just keep forgetting his documents at home.
Manni frozed on spot.
- Hum, love, I'm coming back wait for me before the next episode.
- Yeah-yeah.
There no chance the kid will do so. They like doing the exact contrary you told them to do, so big brothers figured it out by saying excatly what she will never do. Waiting for them.
Manni followed the noise to Richie's office. Th next minutes he was waiting for the disgusting people in there to get done with their affair was the longest of his entire lifetime. His anger was more upon his dad, than the poor girl way younger for him, she could have been his daughter. But the blame wasn't only aimed for Richie, Candece knew better. He was married man and a father but furhtermore his employer.
How was she able to look in his mother's eyes afterwards was none of his business. The scandal was enough to shake Bonnie to the core. When you analyse the situation, Bonnie wasn't even a bad person. She was a mum and spouse fighting in a patriarcal society for her respect, respect that comes only with results by overworking. But did this flame in her eyes for his dad tarnished ? Never. In regards of the fact all their arguments started with her complaints. And as long as a women was fussing, she was caring. Unfortunately, that was toxic. So toxic, even him noticed. Plus Manni was not a fool, it occured to him yet, the divorce was out of topic because of her mother. More than the High Society expectation's sake.
- Oh please Richie, giggled the culprit opening the door of the office the smily face of his dad too close to her's.
Their gases fell under his hard face soon enough then. Seeing they were caught red handed, Manni put in display his tall height to the point Candece retracted in the office, his dad on her steps.
- Son..;. , started his dad a hand pushing his mistress under his back.
Manni stopped in the room. Taking in the woody fournitures manish half-library, half-trophee room, he sight went rapidly on the desk still desorganised. Then he closed the door.
- That's not what it seems..;.
- No doubt, you're preparing an excuse to let me understand how the Nanny of the daughter you're not able to take care of have been buried your cock in her holes, but let's drop the act.
Instantly his shocked dad's face showed the change of reaction of his faulty parent.
- I don't permit you.
- No matter how you want me to put it, it is what it is. You better not drop into the choice-of-word argument right now, guilt of adultery. Matter of fact the only reason why i restraint myself to punch you in your face it's because Isa is watching PAW Patrol downstairs.
- What do you want?
- I want Candece to resign out of decency, precised him to her while she burned to plaid her case, in the following twenty four hours.
- You cannot oblige her..;.
- Sure, but i can convicte her, even by bullying. I have all the keys in hands, so let's just pretend i am the one reasonable. And you! Father, i think it's about time for you to have a conversation with your wife. To express your expectation about this marriage..;.
- You think I'm the only one to blame for this marriage?
- ..;. You have the week. And if by any chance you want to get away with it, let's me put under your awareness you engendered three men that despised you greatly. If you care so much about her, protect her from us, and do as i said.
- Why are you doing it? I'm still your father!
- Your voice, Richie. You stopped to be one long time ago now, so don't hurry yourself to claim a thing you're not legit to..;. Do not worry about your money or my inheritance. I still got a mother.
