The dim lit hallway buzzes off violence and power. Power that was now in my palms. Violence that awaits me at the end of this hall. My steps are steady and silent as I take in the dark walls on either side of the. The door at the end of the hall. Jaw clenched I raised my hands pressing them against the door and pushed it open.
Their eyes catch me, looking me up and down as if they don't know who they are looking at. Drooling like a dog looking at a meat piece. But my glare was fixed in front. Sitting with the ex Don—Marcel Edgar Marciano. A twisted smile settled on his lips, casually taking sips of his alcohol sitting on the top—at my throne.
My lips pressed together I stood at the door my hands crossed behind my back. It gave them the essence of my submission to them, it radiates off weakness for them. And I gave them just what they wanted—until it was time to snatch it back.
"What happened? Couldn't find a seat Little bird?" Alaric—the ex second in command mocked followed by a roar of laughter. I smiled at his words and looked at him. "If you care so much why don't you give up yours?" I said calmly and grinned at myself watching as his face fell with the laughter of other men.
I walked around the table where all twelve members were sitting. Glasses filled with liquor of different types in their hands. Alaric titled his head up when he saw me hovering over his head. "Nevermind, A Donna isn't supposed to sit on an 'ex second in command's' seat anyways, Right?" I looked at the members with a raised eyebrow. Smiling when they nodded their heads.
I sighed and moved over to Marcel. I looked at him with a bored expression on my face. " What?" He spit out. Like speaking to his Donna—his own fucking daughter burns his inside.
" Move" my voice was dead like a plant without water. Yet they thought I was scared of them. I would have been but not now. Not ever again. Heads turned my way but I held my gaze at his wrinkled face, slowly he turned my way his eyes darker than before "What did you say" his voice boomed across the room. I rolled my eyes internally as these men squirmed in their seats.
"Last time I checked you didn't have any hearing trouble. Do you want me to set up a doctor's checkup for you." I asked for a faking concern look and watched as a pink tint coated his cheeks before he glared back at me." Take a seat anywhere there's plenty of empty seats, as your presence fucking matters" he grumbled out as a few chuckles were heard over the room.
My nails dug into the inside of my palm. A whisper echoed in my mind. Voices that I pretend weren't there roared at me. Like a plague spread faster than ever louder than before. Laughing at the dirt thrown at me. But I pushed myself out of that trap, shutting these voices down and locking them out. My tongue poked the inside of my cheek as I tuted at him taking an exaggerated breath.
"By law second of the Orphic book of domain; a meeting or a grouped discussion cornering the domain is null and void without the presence and sanction of the Leader in power." I deadpaned not bothering to look at others to see the shocked look on their faces
" You'll regret this, child" I almost flinched at that word—Child, it was an insult he never missed to throw at me. I wasn't his child nor he is my father, I'm just his fucking toy to play around to torture, to train like a fucking dog in the name of preparing me for the world I had to take over. But in the end he couldn't handle the reality of me finally taking over him, his throne, his mafia.
My Mafia.
" You'll regret disrespecting your donna" my voice was calm, but nothing was calm with these people in this room. They thrived on blood, ate on the weaker ones and wanted to bring me down in any way by hook or by crook. Fucking male ego couldn't see a girl ruling over them, to Bow their heads down to me. He scoffed looking dead in my eyes but still proceeds on not shifting himself off my throne
