Summer in a fucking boiler room of a vacation house. The AC broke two days ago and I sware I've lost five pounds through sweating. Groaning on the ground with a handheld fan on my face Dad came walking into the room.

"(y/n) would you mind running down to get some more ice? You can have two beers." I arched an eyebrow at him tilting my head up weakly.

"One beer and I can buy icy poles to mix with the vodka." He sighed staring at me.

"I don't want you to get drunk on Iceypoles."

"It would be that or not knowing I was doing it." He tossed the money at me.

"Fine, but you're sharing half of those with your brother. Alcohol-free of course." Grumbling shoving the money down my front pocket I slowly unstuck myself from the floor. dirt and hair from the wooden floor stuck do my back before I rolled it off.

"Be back in half an hour," Mum called out from the kitchen as I walked out into the driveway tossing the keys in my hand when seeing James my little brother hanging out in the passenger seat. I arched an eyebrow hopping inside.

"You know kids die locked in cars every year."

"That's what I was hoping for." I scoffed turning on the car.

"That's mighty grim of you. Heat getting to your child's temper." Patting his head James swatted my hand away making me laugh.

"No mum said I could buy a new cassette tape for the trip to our new house." I hummed kicking the car into reverse starting the short drive into town. "And I'm not a kid."

"Well, 14 is considered a child to most people. Enough talk let's fight!" Pressing play on the dashboard ACDC started playing full blast for my enjoyment and although for ages James hated this stuff he's finally growing on the style. Always nice not to hear someone shouting to turn the music down next to you.

Everyone was at the public pool as always on the last five hot days. So packed that going in there was suicide. Don't know how many kids peed in that pool that it was not a normal colour. Once parking I turned to James. "Ok J, you have one mission. To find something I like that I don't already have." James slightly glared at me before rolling his eyes.

"It's mum's money anyway." We laughed a little before going our separate ways between the strip of shops. Zooming through the shops for ice and icy poles there was almost nothing left but I managed to snag one of both. When James wasn't by the car I groaned knowing it wouldn't be long before this ice was water. Jogging down the road to the music store I kicked the door open to see James with some guy.

"I bet she'd like this."

"J I sware you know nothing about heat and ice." He turned and the person next to him did as well. I stopped frozen on the spot for a few seconds. Nearly melting at the sight of his large brown eyes and the smile spread across his face.

"Your sister?" He asked and James nodded.

"Yeah, she's nicer than she looks." Sighing at him he stopped and went to pay for the tapes.

"And he's more annoying than he looks." James raised his middle finger. My eyes rolled.

"So you're the one who likes Metallica."

"Yep, can't listen to the God damn radio anymore. All the same drabble." He chuckled and I bit my lip. He also likes black Sabbath from the tee he wore. His hand came out to shake mine and when I extended mine to shake the ice in my arms fell to the ground spilling all over the floor just as James got back.

"I Ummm. Let's go." The guy grabbed my hand tugging me out of the store and James followed behind as the owner began shouting after us.

"Car, car get in the car!" I shouted fiddling with the keys and tossing the icy poles to the mystery guy before starting the engine. The music store owner was right behind us before I reversed out speeding down the road.

"Oh, you've really fucked up now. If the cops show up." James rambled and I slammed on the breaks making James hit the seats behind him hard.

"Oops." Chuckling while driving again, James groaned rolling his neck.

"Where exactly are we going?" I jolted swerving the car.

"Shit I forgot mystery guy is here. What's your name?" He smirked letting out a laugh.

"Eddie Munson." He went to shake my hand but I stopped him.

"Maybe not, let's not repeat what happened before."

I was never one for summer romances, since they last a short time and all the guys I know are complete idiots but after we first met and Eddie spent the day at my place every other day it was only four days of meeting up with him that we were making out on my bed in the middle of the night.

"You don't think it's weird we're making out with your parents two rooms down?" He breathed out and I smiled hands tangling in Eddie's hair.

"So you want to stop?"

"Hell no." We laughed and he brought our lips back together. Moaning softly Eddie pressed himself onto me and my hands glided down his front. His tongue slipped into my mouth and as my hips went up into his jeans. Eddie groaned but stopped himself again. "Making out I totally agree but if this goes any further your parents might..." There was a knock on the door and Eddie pulled back from me.

"Shit." We both said.

"Under the bed," I whispered and he was quick to move. "Yeah." Dad opened the door and I faked a yawn.

"Sorry, did you have a ten on you? We need milk first thing in the morning." Mumbling to myself grabbing my wallet dad grabbed it. "I'll pay you back when the bank opens. Night." Waving him off I let out a long breath.

"Why is your dad up at one in the morning thinking about buying milk." Eddie chuckled getting out from under the bed.

"Insomnia, he has trouble sleeping and his medication ran out two days ago. The pharmacy ran out of new meds so it's all he can talk about." Eddie chuckled sitting up next to me on the bed.

"So I would love to continue this but maybe in my uncle and I's hotel room. He's out with his workmates tomorrow night for drinks we could watch a movie or...." He grinned over at me and I rolled myself onto his lap.

"Sounds magical. Pick me up at seven I'll say we're going to a movie." Eddies hands went to my lips as we kissed.
