"He did what?" Chrissy gasped out from inside her dressing room as all the other girls stood around waiting. They were all whispering to each other constantly not really talking. There were five of us. I only remembered Tessa's name all the others looked the same.
"Yeah, that's crazy." One whined out sipping from her milkshake. The sarcasm rolled off her tongue and I scoffed quietly crossing my arms in my seat.
"Are you ok?" Chrissy asked when coming out but I didn't get to say anything while she was covered in compliments.
I should have listened to Eddie when he said this would be a bore.
Eddie and hellfire were in the heat of a d&d round. The school was open for the basketball team so with the doors open they decided to sneak in.
"Where's (y/n) today?" Mike asked while some of the others went out for snacks and a toilet break.
"With Chrissy and her friends. Said they were all bitches but it's to cheer Chrissy up so." Mike nodded eating the last chip from the packet.
"Suffer in silence. Got it."
"I heard two of them talking in maths yesterday. Said something about ditching the traitor, they think (y/n) split them up." Gareth said in a hushed tone just as the door was kicked open by Dustin and Jeff.
"We've returned!" Eddie ignored them staring at Gareth with a blank almost pissed-off face.
"And you're only thinking of telling me now!?" Eddie shut his binder standing abruptly and everyone froze.
"You weren't at school yesterday I'm sorry I didn't call." Eddie pointed a finger at him.
"You should be. This session is over, I may or may not be back." Grabbing his keys and walking out Dustin dropped the bags of goodies in his hands.
"What the hell did you say? I was gone for five minutes."
"Come on girls it'll be fun." Chrissy and I stood on the sidewalk while the others were trying to convince us to go out to lover's lake. Chrissy didn't really want to go back to the place she went with Jason all the time but they were all insisting.
"I mean not for long. We still need to catch a movie." The girls sighed pulling her to one car. I went to follow.
"Sorry (y/n) the backs full. You drive with Penny." They gave each other a look and Chrissy smiled nodding for me to go. Sighing to myself I got in. Madonna was playing on the radio for the drive. The car was mostly silent which I preferred, until Penny I learned spoke up.
"Chrissy told us you encouraged her to break up with Jason."
"I didn't. All I said was she should be careful with a violent guy like Jason. Picking fights and all that." She scoffed at me shaking her head.
"Like you can talk. Dating Eddie the freak Munson." My eyebrow arched at her.
"I don't think that's any of your business Penny."
"I'm a cheerleader. We know everything. Like Jason and Chrissy are 'the couple' of Hawkins high. They don't just break up." She picked up the speed of the car. What is with this group and being protective over dick boyfriends?
"Chrissy said having a break from Jason to cool himself down. I'm sure they'll hook up again in a few weeks." Penny screeched the car to a stop.
"Get out."
"Seriously we're in the middle of nowhere. Are you that childish?" She continued her glare so I opened the car door. "Fine. Fuck your preppy ass then." then slammed the door shut she hit the gas driving off. Flipping her my middle finger I turned in the opposite direction not really sure where I was but it was a start. I hope Chrissy is ok.
Eddie was driving about Haskins looking for (y/n). With no place to start, it was rather hard to find her until someone mentioned something about cheerleaders going to lovers lake. He jumped out of his car to speak to the pair nearly giving the two of them a heart attack. But now with a heading, he could start looking.
Humming a soft tune to myself just finishing off the bottle of water I had with me I groaned still mindlessly walking along the same road. We were driving for nearly twenty minutes with penny speeding most of the way. It could be an hour's walk back to my house.
"Bloody cheerleaders and their stupid blood pack. Why are they all pricks!?" Shouting this out only a few birds heard which flew away. And luck would just so have it, it started to rain. Bet they're laughing now. Trying to pick up the pace I began jogging but slipped and ended up with a long deep scrape along my ripped jean knee. "God fucking damn it. Could this get any worse?" And a car drove past drenching me in more water. "Thank you universe."
"(y/n)!" looking up from the pavement Eddie came running over holding onto my shoulders. "Come on." He helped me up going for his van. Eddie opened the back door letting me in so we could talk. It was mostly empty apart from some rubbish and old magazines.
"How did you know where I was?" I sniffed while Eddie took off his jacket handing it to me to cover my shoulders.
"Gareth heard some cheerleaders talking about it. Fucking hell you're cold come on I'll take you back to my place."
Eddie was gathering up some clothes for me to wear while I was slowly taking off the layers of clothes I wore. Ringing them out in the sink I noticed Wayne wasn't here. Drinking with some friends probably. Eddie came in swinging open the door.
"Here you... Oh, shit (y/n) your leg." Humming I glanced down to the fall from earlier. It was bleeding a lot which I didn't notice.
"Oh yeah." I breathed out peeling off my jeans I hissed as they rolled over the sore. "It should be fine ill just need to..." Glancing up at Eddie he pulled me in for a hug.
"I'm sorry all this happened."He held onto me tight wrapping a blanket around my cold shoulders.
