BRRRRIINNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!

YES! The final bell rang and I could hardly get out of the school fast enough. I stepped out onto the baked tarmac and breathed in the fresh scent of Florida smog. I am free for two whole months. Two whole months to sit on my butt and play video games, two months to roast marshmallows and wake up at 9 am every morning. Two months to hang out with Milly.

I had asked her out to the dance the school has every June. She said yes, and now, she's my girlfriend. Life could'nt get any better, I had a girlfriend, and now, it was summer. I can't wait to just, relax. It's been a long time since my butt and the couch downstairs have had a relationship that lasted more than an hour. This was gonna be heaven.

I took the bus home with Brett and my other buddy Alex, sitting in the back as usual. When I got home, I plopped on the couch and just reminded myself that it was summer, I didn't have to do anything. Mom got home from doing the grocery shopping and glanced at me. I could tell she was about to tell me to "get off my lazy arse and help her with the groceries". But I guess she's giving me today to laze around seeing as it's the first day of summer.

After my sister gets home from school, we all head out to Alex's house for the party. You see, every year, Alex's family has a last-day-of-school party. His dad gets a great big screen from his work, and they play a movie. The only problem is that the movie has to be "kid appropriate", so the movies they play are "Tintin", "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and crap like that. I wouldn't even go to the stupid party, but my mom makes me. So for the past few years, Alex takes some chips and pop and we go sit up in his tree house and hang out. Sometimes the girls come up and hang too, after the movie's over and they can stop babysitting all the whiney little buggers.

This year, Alex, Brett, Mike and Sam are already in the tree house when I get there. When I sit own and grab a handful of chips, we start talking about ________ and ____________.  The night passes pretty quickly. At around 9:30, the girls come up, saying that all the younger kids have gone home and that everyone else is inside. Then we all start going on about what we're doing for the summer and how great it is that we don't have to wake up early anymore.

Eventually, after Mike and his girlfriend Sarah start making out in the corner, my mom calls up asking if I want to head home. I climb down the ladder and round up my siblings. My dad is in the living room talking sports with his friends. I tell him we're leaving and he says he'll be coming home soon. I am exhausted by the time we finally get home. It's 1:20 in the morning, so I quickly fall asleep.
