(y/n) was sent to an orphanage when she was only five years old, her parents couldn't take care of her because they were poor and her father had cancer..
They hoped that someone would adopt her and give her a better life then the life she would have...
Ok so in this chapter y/n is ten years old and she wanted to make something for her adoptive parents because today is their wedding anniversary. So she is going to make breakfast for them to give them a surprise when they wake up and go to the kitchen.
On with the story! ______________________________________
(y/n POV)
I woke up early today, i wanted to make breakfast for mom and dad. Today was the anniversary of their wedding, they have been married for five years! I was so proud, so i wanted to give them a surprise.
I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine and after i was done i went to the kitchen and started to prepare everything i needed to make this special breakfast. I wanted to make crepes with strawberries, so i looked up how to make crepes on YouTube and i found an easy recipe. I made the pancake batter, i put just a little bit of sugar in the mix and then i started to heat up the pan on the stove. Once the pan was hot enough i put some butter in the pan and let it melt before pouring in some pancake batter. "Ah ah ah, just a little bit not to much!" I thought to myself.
When i got done cooking i started to set the table, as i was finishing up i heard a gasp behind me. I looked behind me and i saw mom standing there in the hallway with her hand over her mouth and her eyes wide with shock and then dad came out and looked at the sight in front of him.

He looked at me surprised and asked "what's all this?". I smiled at them and said "surprise! Happy anniversary! I wanted to surprise you with breakfast for your anniversary, so i got up really early and made crepes with strawberries! I hope you like them." They smiled and mom said "thank you so much y/n.. but you didn't have to do all of this" mom came up to me and gave me a hug. "No mom it's okay, i wanted to make something special for you guys anyway.." dad came over and said "thank you very much y/n, we appreciate that you care about us so much." He then said "come on now, we wouldn't want to waste such hard work, right?" With that being said we all sat down and ate.
After we ate and cleaned up the kitchen, dad got ready for work and i got ready for school. We left the house after saying goodbye to mom. Dad dropped me off at school and he left for work.
I went to class and met with some of my friends we talked about what i did for my parents this morning, they were amazed to know that i can cook.
One of them said that he and his family were going on a vacation, because they were going to celebrate his brother's birthday, "wow! That's so cool." "Yeah! I know right?, we will be leaving tonight, so before i leave do you have anything to say to me?" I smiled and said "bye! Have a nice time and say happy birthday to your brother for me ok?" He hugged me and said "thank you y/n." I hugged him back. "Ok if we don't get going we're going to be late for class" at that moment the bell rang, indicating that class was about to start. And we ran for the classroom, hoping we would make it before we get in trouble. ____________________________
Later that day, school was over and i was waiting for dad to come and pick me up, he was always there waiting right after classes were over, but he never came. So i took the bus instead, when i got home my mom was crying with the phone in her hand, "mom? What's wrong?" I asked she didn't answer she just took my hand and called for a taxi. "What's wrong? What happened!?" Mom turned to me and said "the hospital called and said that your father is there, he was in a car accident and that he's in the emergency room now.." her voice was shaky she was going to cry and upon hearing that, i was too. _____________________________
When we got there, we were told to wait outside of the emergency room. Mom was freaking out, we didn't know if he'll make it. We hoped he would. After a couple hours the doctor came out. "Doctor! Is my husband okay!? How is he!?" Mom frantically asked the doctor about dad. "I'm sorry to say this.. but.. he didn't make it, he inhaled to much smoke caused by the fire that was ignited when gas had speelt on the road and there was a cigarette that hadn't been fully put out and had a third degree burn on the front of his body, that's all the information i have." Mom had fallen to her knees on the floor as he was telling us the information. Her expression changed to a lifeless one wich scared me. I came up to her and hugged her from behind crying. She soon snapped out of it and stood up and hugged me back. She turned to the doctor and said "t-thank you doctor, we'll be going home now.." he nodded and we left the hospital and went home after we got a taxi. _______________________________
After we got home mom had full on breakdown as soon as we walked in the doorway, i had to close and lock it myself as she sat there crying, i couldn't hold my tears anymore and let them fall, mom had pulled me into her arms and we were hugging each other tightly. _______________________________
Earlier that day. (Ayako's/adoptive mother POV)
Today started off amazing! Y/n had surprised us with such lovely breakfast, it tasted heavenly. "Y/n! When did you learn how to cook? How did you make this, this is so delicious!" I praised her and she blushed and said "umm well i just watched you whenever you cooked and i searched up a recipe and how to make it, it was really easy!" I looked at her amazed at how sweet and smart y/n is. "Wow! Y/n i didn't know that you were a fast learner, you already know just by observing someone."
Afterwards we finished our breakfast, and cleaned up. Haoyu(husband's name) and y/n left. But before they did Haoyu told y/n to get in the car and he turned back to and said "there is a surprise for you in the drawer of the desk in my office, you can open it tonight" i smiled sweetly at him and gave him a hug before he left. " I love you honey, happy anniversary!" He kissed me tinderly and once he pulled away he said "i love you too." And with that he left after giving me one last kiss on my forehead.
I waved them goodbye and i went inside. ____________________________
"I can't wait to see what he has for me!" I thought to myself, i wanted to take a peek at it but i changed my mind and went to finish that book I've been reading for quite some time now.
After awhile i began to get tired and i set my book down and turned on the TV and started to clean the house. After about six hours, i heard the news and it said that there had been a car accident and I was intrigued and kept watching. Until the phone rang, I picked up the phone and said "hello?" The person on the other end said "are you Mrs. Cheng?" I was confused and curious so i said "yes, who -" i got cut off as they said "i called to inform you that your husband is at the hospital and in the emergency room, he was in a car accident this afternoon." I was so shocked and scared of what happened to him i said "I'm.. I'm on my way." ______________________________________
