Upon opening his eyes, Ren found himself and the others in a strange dark forest, almost looking straight out of the Metaverse for that matter. It defiantly had a foreboding feeling to it, and by looking at the others, could tell that their share his sentiments.
"So this is Dwarfs' Mine... It used be very prosperous back in the day thanks to the Magic Crystal mining, but now..." Deuce says.
"Uuhhh... Feels like something could just jump out of nowhere at any moment..." Grim says nervously.
"Oh look, there's a house up ahead. Let's go ask them about the mine." Ace says while pointing to said house.
"That's a good place to start I guess. But keep your guard up, if past experience is anything to go by, then it pays to be cautious." Morgana agrees then advises.
"I'll go ahead." Ren says and walks ahead of the others.
"What? Hey! Who said you get to be leader!?" Ace exclaims and follows after him.
"Wah! Don't leave me!" Grim yells and runs after the two. Morgana and Deuce not far behind. The group approaches the small cottage, until they come to the door and Ren knocks on it.
"Hello? Anyone home?" He calls but receives no answer. So he proceeds to open it, but one look inside made it clear no one has lived here for some time. "Well, talk about a bust." He says as he and the others step inside.
"Looks like it's been abandoned. It's a real mess in here." Deuce comments.
"Psh! I got a spider web on my face... It's in my mouth! Puwah!" Grim coughs as he unfortunately gets a face full of web.
"Achoo! And I thought the dust from before was bad." Morgana sneezes from a cloud of dust that he accidently inhales.
"Aren't the tables and chairs on the small side? Are they for kids? ...One, two... There's seven! So many!" Ace says then exclaims having counted the seats.
"This was probably a lively home when the mine still flourished." Deuce suggests.
"They did what they had to. After all, magic crystals are inside coal." Ace says.
"Really? Huh..." Ren comments. Morgana himself looks intrigued.
"Anyways, let's get going. We better check it the mine." Ace suggests and they all head back out the door.
~Take Your Time~
While took a bit of a hike, but eventually they arrived at the entrance of the mine shaft. As if the woods were unnerving enough, this place felt like the entrance to a palace, and shadows could appear at any moment.
"We-we're really going down in that pitch black hole?!" Grim says nervously.
"Hah! You scared? How lame. Ow!" Ace taunts then exclaims as Ren hits his arm.
"Nyah!? I'm not s-scared at all! I'm taking the lead! You guys follow me!" The grey cat says and rushes into the shaft.
"Say what you want, I think I'm going to stay up here for now. Call me if you need anything." Morgana says and takes a guard stance.
"Alright. Come on, let's catch up with Grim before he hurts himself." Ren says and leads the two other boys down into the mine.
It didn't take too long before they entered the main mining area. The many rocky services that surrounded them had dozens of different colored stones embedded in them. Admittedly, it was a beautiful sight.
"Hold it!" Deuce suddenly says in alert and everyone freezes.
"What is it?" Ace asks, wondering what was up.
