Emerson's POV-

14 years old. It sounds weird to say. It makes me feel old and grown up, the opposite of what I want to be. My name is Emerson Webb. Odd name if you ask me. All my friends have nice simple names like Olivia, my best friend. Today I didn't feel like getting up. I knew I'd be ambushed my my parents and younger brother and sister. I decided to get up and do my daily routine.

"14" I said to myself, looking in the mirror.

I took my long, light brown hair out of my two braids and brushed my teeth. Then I made my way to my closet and picked out my outfit. I wore a dark blue, flowy tank top, light wash jeans, and brown sandals. It was getting warmer, since it's the beginning of May, and I live in New York. My mom is taking Olivia and I to the city today. We're going to go shopping and just hang out, and then staying at a hotel. Olivia has blonde straight hair, and the prettiest green eyes.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Olivia yelled to me as I opened my front door.

"LIVI!" screamed Cami and Carter, my 5 year old twin siblings.

"Hey guys!" She said with enthusiasm, hugging them tightly.

"Olivia, sweetie, would you like any breakfast?" My mom asked.

"That would be great, thank you Mrs.Webb." She replied.

As we sat down at the breakfast table, Olivia nearly choked on her orange juice.

"What was that?" I asked trying not to laugh to hard.

"JACK DAIL IS IN THE CITY!" She screamed.

"Who?" I asked with confusion.

"You know, the guy I always talk about?."

"Ohhh. Is he really? That's awesome."

"We have to find him! Pleaseeee Emerson?" she begged.

"Okay!" I said.

After breakfast, we dropped the twins off to my grandma's house, and we headed off to the city. It only took about 30 minutes to get from Manhattan to New York City, but there was a lot of traffic on a Saturday morning. When we got to the city, we went to the hotel and checked in. After we got to our room, we were ready to explore the city we already knew so well. As we were going down to the lobby to leave, Olivia grabbed my arm and turned me around, my mom following out of confusion.

"Oh-oh-oh my god." She said shaking.

"What? What's wrong?" I said starting to freak out.

"Jack. Dail."

Those two words were all it took for Olivia to burst out in tears.

"Come on, he's probably going to leave soon! Go get a picture!" I said trying to get her to stop crying.

"Oh-okay." She said as I pulled her arm.

I then took her toward the crowd of boys that I'd only seen on Olivia's wall.
