"It's a birthmark," Keith blurts out, walking with Lance to second period. Lance looks up at him curiously, his head tilted.

"What is?"

"The purple spot on the back of my neck that you saw," Keith said, avoiding Lance's face.

"Oh," Lance said dumbly. "Alright."

"I'll walk you to your next class."

"Oh, you don't have to do that. I don't want you to be late," Lance chuckles awkwardly.

Keith ignores him, walking ahead, unfazed by Lance's protests.

"Ok, I guess I can't tell you what to do," Lance mutters to himself.

Keith stops outside of the classroom. "I'll be here to walk you to third period." He stated, walking away before Lance could ask any questions.

Lance sits down by the window, still deeply confused.

He pulls out his phone to text the group chat.

LanceyPoo:
@pidgeywidgey why is Keith so odd, he's all jokes one minute and the next he's back to to being stoic and broody

LanceyPoo:
He's insisting on walking me to my next period

Pidgeywidgey:
Idk man Keith's just weird sometimes

Hunkalicious:
Maybe he has a crush on you 😯

LanceyPoo:
Ur funny 😐

Pidgeywidgey:
Why are you complaining about having a 7 foot tall bodyguard to walk you to class

Hunkalicious:
Yeah man he's like the man of your dreams

LanceyPoo:
He acted like he hated me a few hours ago.

Hunkalicious:
Maybe he realized how pretty you look today 😃

LanceyPoo:
😐

Lance puts his phone back in his pocket, deciding to daydream instead. Maybe Hunk was right. Maybe Keith was just trying to be nice.

Keith was true to his word, standing right outside the classroom door when the bell rang.

"Can I ask why you're doing this now?" Lance asked him, trying to catch Keith's eyes as they walked.

"No," Keith grunted.

"Why not?" Lance asks, walking backwards to face Keith.

"You talk too much."

"All the more reason to not escort me everywhere. You won't have to hear me talk!" He exclaimed, waving his arms in the air, still walking backwards in front of Keith.

Keith huffed and reached out a hand to grab Lance by the front of his hoodie.

"Hey! What the hell man!" Lance shouted. He nearly stumbled and looked behind himself to see that he'd almost walked backwards down a flight of stairs.

Keith pulled Lance back with ease, continuing down the stairs with Lance scrambling to catch up to him.

"Hey, wait up!" Lance huffs, "I still want answers!" Lance demands as they reach the bottom of the stairs.
