Jeon Jungkook believes that he's won the lottery.
His friends tell him he's the luckiest bastard in the world, considering how he was dating one of the most powerful women in the country, and if anything, the most richest in her age bracket. He agrees wholly—he's lucky indeed, believing that in his last life, he must have did a lot of good deeds to win such an award now. But he thinks, that the Park Chaeyoung they know, is only 10% of a catch that she truly is.
Yes, Park Chaeyoung had an expansive repertoire under her belt and perhaps more money than he could ever make his entire life and yes, he admits that she's calm and witty when she's doing an interview for the press. Jeon Jungkook knows how amazing her career achievements have been, and how she'd brought her family's company from the ground up since the scandal. She renamed and reshaped the image of their hotels and casinos, in a manner that will leave a mark on the world. He's had the honour of sitting down in a few of her meetings and seeing the commanding presence she maintains and the way she's able to be feminine—yet stern, confident but not cocky. She was perfect.
But, that wasn't all that she was.
She was also soft and delicate and had a heart for giving back.
Park Chaeyoung runs the world during the weekdays (and half days on Saturdays and Sundays) but she spends a lot of her free time volunteering at the local orphanage, sometimes bringing food, other times bringing blankets and toiletries and when she had time, she'd bring books and play and sing with them. He feels embarrassed, the first time he accompanied her, and when their spontaneous singing session came along, he felt embarrassed that his vocals were no-where near as good as hers. But helping was not only something she did during the weekends, but slowly—she changed the hotel industry. Park Chaeyoung partnered up with local communities and did food donations weekly, and even started including sustainable architecture and products in her businesses.
He's proud of her.
Then there was the person that she was at home—sometimes a little moody, but otherwise caring and attached. Even after months of dating, his stomach does somersaults whenever he sees her and he can't help but feel nervous each time she lays her head on his chest on movie nights. She hated being alone and any time that was possible, she'd always make sure that they were together.
Park Chaeyoung had two rules that really helped their relationship: never go to sleep angry (and yes, sometimes they had to both stay up till 3am in silence before finally giving in) and every morning and night should start and end with a kiss.
She was the sweetest girlfriend in the world.
Jeon Jungkook wakes up one morning and she's not there on the other side of the bed. Getting up, he's surprised to see her staring blankly at the sky which was evidently gloomy—black skies, and fog against the glass.
"Darling," his morning voice brings a smile to her face as she takes a few steps and wraps her arms around him, her lips finding his for a kiss, "... why are you awake so early?"
It was Sunday morning and usually they'd sleep in together.
"Just thinking," she lets out a sigh, her arms tightening around him, "... the weather isn't nice today."
"We can stay inside today and order food," he suggests and she simply nods, "... what's wrong?"
"My father is being released next week," she informs him.
"Are you okay?"
"I don't know," she responds honestly, "... we haven't spoken since he was arrested and he never apologised. I think he doesn't realise how his actions has affected me."
"Do you want to meet him?" He questions her.
"Will you come with me, though?"
He stops.
It had been a while since he'd seen her father, and while they weren't necessarily on bad terms per say, the last time they'd seen each other was when his wife was accusing him of being a gold digger.
He doesn't want to.
But when he sees his girlfriend looking at her with such pleading eyes, he can't help himself.
"Of course, we'll go together."
By the end of it, he's thankful because every one got to say their piece and all wounds were closed.
Her father tells him at the end of the dinner, that he's glad she found her happiness in him.
-
When they get home, Park Chaeyoung cries against his chest that the front of his shirt almost becomes entirely transparent.
"Jungkook," she breathed between tears, "... thank you—for always being there for me."
He rubs her back comfortingly, "... it'll always be you."
Jeon Jungkook helps her into the shower and for once, it's oddly non-sexual. He can see that she's not feeling herself, drained from meeting her father and so he helps her get out of her clothes, before turning on the water just right so that it wasn't too hot. They're both naked and he carefully scrubs her back with the soap, making sure to leave kisses on her shoulder as he did so.
Suddenly, she turns, not caring that her milky skin was still covered with body gel suds and water before she kisses him, her touch lingering on the side of his waist. He can feel her smile through the kiss, as her free hand pulls him deeper and closer to her, pulling him from the back of his neck.
"I love you, so much," she tells him.
It's there that he pulls her close to him, their chests touching.
And he's thankful that, even in their most vulnerable states, fully naked in front of one another, he feels safe with her.
"Will you marry me?" He suddenly blurt.
He feels the way she leans back, a brow arched in confusion.
"A-are you proposing to me?" She reconfirms.
"I've had the ring with me for the last two months, but I couldn't find a perfect moment—and I know this is far from it, but being here—seeing you like this, and knowing where we stand—I can't wait any longer, Chaeyoung. Will you be my Mrs. Jeon Chaeyoung?"
Despite the gloomy weather, the emotional turmoil and the fact that they were both very naked with water running down their bodies, she says yes.
"Make me yours, Jungkook."
such unexpected timing but i think the cutest proposals are ones where it really comes from the heart >.< ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
