My parents started having their date nights when Tori moved out and Charlie was as uni. I missed Charlie A LOT. And Tori. Nicks mum would baby sit for me and she always brought the dogs so it wasn't too bad.
I look outside my bedroom window and see Nick's car pull up outside the driveway.
Since I've entered my teen years I've wanted nothing more than a bit of privacy. Nick and Charlie know this. When they babysit, they usually sit downstairs and do whatever they fancy doing and leave me in my room to play video games. Of course they check on me every hour or so but, it's better I think this way.
"Ollie, don't forget your tea is in the microwave"
"I won't mum" I say between the crack in my door. My mum still hasn't gotten over her 'open door' rule in the house. Kind of annoying to be honest.
When I know that my mum and dad have definitely gone, i head downstairs.
"Hey Ollie!!" Both Nick and Charlie say simultaneously.
"Hey! I'm gonna grab my tea and head upstairs"
"Mum say that's alright?" Charlie says, from the other room. Mum never lets me eat upstairs. Especially since last time. I got food all over the hallway carpet upstairs. I know Charlie knows this. Thankfully Nick steps in and saves the day!
"Ollie! We know you aren't supposed to eat upstairs but if you keep it off the carpets, we won't say anything".
I can hear Nick and Charlie squabbling about it in the other room but I don't pay attention.
My mums made me spaghetti bolognaise. Perfect choice I reckon. I turn the microwave on and appear round the doorway to observe what is going on.
"Hey Charlie, you know when you and Nick get your place, reckon I can come over whenever I like?"
I find Nick and Charlie's reaction funny. I overheard dad on the phone yesterday. I wanted to see how they'd suspect I found out.
"Guessing dad told you yeah?"
"Not directly" I say with a sudden smirk on my face.
"When we get our place you can come round whenever you like". Nick tells me excitedly. I can tell he's more excited than Charlie. That's what it seems anyways.
I hear the microwave go off. My foods ready. I sneak upstairs even though I don't need to and carry on playing my video games. I know Nick and Charlie are going to be all lovey-dovey tonight and I can't bare the thought of seeing it.
