The next morning was slow, Tubbo woke up from the dark feline jumping off his lap. He attempted to wake Tommy by gently shaking him, the blond grumbled a complaint and layed back down on the ground to go back to sleep. The goat boy stood and went over to the mini fridge and the small propane powered burner, his dark gray hooves echoing in the the empty space.
Zack woke up next, lifting his head and trying to nudge the tall boy awake. Ranboo's heterochromia eyes fluttered open, he was quiet at first but soon started to panic as he forgot where he was again. The smaller American tried to explain to Ranboo that he was safe but stopped when Tubbo strode over with his memory book. Ranboo flipped through the pages and let out a sigh of relief after.
Tubbo went back to making the group breakfast. He made eggs on toast, the bread was a little stale but it was alright with everyone. Tom woke to the smell of food, and got up with the promise of getting some. All four sat on the ground together after exchanging 'good mornings', then ate in silence.
After they ate, the boys gathered all the supplies they could; food, water, personal belongings, and anything that could be used as a weapon. Zack found an old crossbow and a few bolts, Tommy grabbed a wooden bat and filled it with nails, Tubbo found a small pistol and some bullets, and Ranboo picked up the large axe that he had used to chop wood days before.
As the boys were packing, Enderchest meowed at them. Zack turned to her and grabbed the indigo harness for the feline. She jumped to her paws when the black haired boy sauntered closer, he slipped her head through the harness and clipped it securely around her fluffy torso, Enderchest purring the entire time. The boy grabbed the deep blue leash and clipped it to the metal ring on the kitty's harness, but left the other end on the floor. The shorter American grabbed his worn out, black backpack, strapped the crossbow to his belt, then picked up the cat's leash. Enderchest purred and jumped to his shoulders.
"We're taking Enderchest with us?" The blond brit asked as he clipped the hiking bag across his chest.
"Why wouldn't we take her with us?" Ranboo responded, sliding his memory book into his deep purple backpack. The bag was covered in items from his friends; a bee pin from tubbo, a red bandana from Tommy that was tied around one of the straps, and a Minecraft allium keychain from Zack clipped to one of the zippers. It was the bag he'd always take to school.
"Dude, she's probably going to die out there," Tommy said, receiving a hiss from the feline.
"She has a better chance to live if she's with us, so yes, we are taking her," Zack stated, Enderchest rubbed against his fluffy hair.

After a half an hour of packing, the boys are now standing in front of the heavy double doors that lead outside. They can't hear anything from outside, but the thick wood was very good at keeping sound out. They couldn't trust their hearing from still inside. Tubbo stepped forward and placed his hands on the sturdy wood.
"We're not gonna get anywhere if we just stand here," the shirt Brit spoke. "Let's get a move on." He then pushed the dark wood doors open.
Light spilled into the room, hurting their eyes. They've been inside for way too long, even Enderchest was squinting. They shielded their eyes for a moment before they look to the bright sky above.Tommy smiled.
"It feels great to see the sky again," the blond said softly. The group kept their eyes up as they stepped out and walked around the house.
They finally looked forward when they reached the sidewalk in front of Ranboo's two story home. The boys expected outside to look like something out of 'The Walking Dead', but there were no zombies or dead bodies anywhere. No houses on fire and no crashed cars, it just looked like a ghost town.
They walked around the neighborhood for a while, not expected it to look so lifeless. They stopped by a one story house, its exterior a very pale blue with dark gray trim and roof. Tubbo pulled open Tommy's bag and grabbed out an old, detailed map of the U.S. The faded paper had a bright red circle about where Ranboo's neighborhood is located.
"Wouldn't it be better to use Google Maps?" Tommy asked from behind Zack.
"Well yeah, but we don't want to fully rely on electronics, we could lose cell service at any point," Zack explained.
"Plus, it's way cooler!" Toby chimed in.
The boys laughed and agreed.
"Can I borrow your pen, Ranboo?" The small brunet asked as he held the map against the house's wall.
"Of course," Ranboo said, handing Tubbo his pen. He had received it as a gift from Phil years ago and it still has yet to run out ink. It looks like a quill and writes in purple ink.
Tubbo locates Schlatt's and Ranboo's towns on the map, circling them both. He maps out a route from one to the other, keeping speed in mind
"Okay!" The goat boy shouts with a smile, "I think I found the best route to Schlatt's, I've also marked and written down places we should stop at," Tubbo explained, returning the pen to Ranboo, Tommy looked at the map from behind the boy's shoulder.
"A lot of those places are misspelled Tubs," the blond said, glancing at the older boy.
"Ah- shut up," the small brunet looked back at his friend. "I'm dyslexic," that got a laugh out of everyone. Zack covering his mouth, Ranboo's small giggle, and that head splitting half laugh half scream from Tommy.
"So where to first, Tubbo?" the tall enderman boy asked. The small Brit pointed to the first place on the list, a gas station.
"Alrighty, let's go then, lead the way Toby!" Zack smiled.
With weapons in hand, they start their journey to the small gas station.
