Zack was the first to wake, slumped against Ranboo. He had to gently move the tall boy to the ground, then stood up. The boy raised his arms above his head, the stretch made his spine crack all the way down to his tail. He cringed at how loud the cracking was.

“I’m gonna feel that for a while,” Zack said softly as to not wake the others. He walked away from his ender companion, his arms now relaxed at his sides.

Light flooded the room making the boy’s black hair look like a golden halo. Dust was visible in the air, making it feel gross to breath. Zack needed fresh air but didn't want to go outside alone. He debated waking Ranboo or Tubbo but discarded the idea as neither had gotten good sleep in a while.

The Ender boy looked around the grimey room. Piled boxes with labels, bright freezers, his tattered backpack, the blue door, a closed window, and two vents caked in dust.

         “Gross,” Zack mumbled.

The loud click of an opening pocket knife spooked the two Brits awake. They were now facing each other, messy hair covering their open eyes. They stayed motionless. Was someone else in the room? Their thoughts were interrupted by a loud gasp and metal hitting the floor, then a soft curse. Surprised that there wasn't any screaming, they sat up. Zack heard the shuffling of clothes and glanced at the two, he was in the middle of licking blood off his palm.

“You alright?” Tommy asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Zack smiled sheepishly.

“Yeah I’m fine, sorry if I woke you,” the Ender said softly, handing the blond a cold Coke from one of the refrigerators. The Brit smiled and cracked open the can.

“It’s alright, we need to move soon anyway,” Tubbo reassured as he fixed his hair around his curled goat horns.

Tommy went to wake Ranboo as Tubbo and Zack went to raid the storage room.

 --------

The four were now in the middle of a three way intersection. Toby had the map out in front of him. If they had any hope to get from Montana to Texas before the world ends, they'd have to hurry.

“Why did we let Tubbo lead the mission?” the blond whined, following the goat boy down the cracked pavement.

“Because no one stopped me,” the small Brunet smiled.

 --------

The four continued to walk through the empty plains that cover most of the state. Tom noticed that they could see their breath more and more as time went on.

“Guys, maybe we should stop and set up a campfire,”the blond suggested. While he has his favorite shirt and crewneck on, it did little to keep him warm.

“There is no need to stop Tommy, there’s no people out here and even if there were they wouldn’t be zombies,” Zack paused. “Probably.” The blond huffed and got his blue jacket out of his hiking bag.
