12| The awkwardness is real

Dani's POV
I woke up to my alarm going off. I got up went to the restroom brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and put it in a bun. I decided to dress in leggings, uggs, and a sweater that said "California". I mean why not we are going to Cali. I made sure all my stuff was packed and I grabbed some food to eat on the bus. I grabbed powerades, bags of chips, a banana, granola bars, and candy. I got a text from shawn.

Shawn 😊: do u need a ride?
Dani: yes please 😁
Shawn: Kay be there in 5
Dani: I'll be waiting

I sat on the couch and watched tv. I heard a honk and I walked out and saw Shawn in the car waiting.

"Hola nino." I said smiling

"Hola Nina" Shawn said smiling

" You excited for the trip?" I said getting the car

"Yup I can't wait to meet princesses." Shawn said in a girly voice

"Omg sameeee." I said mocking his tone

We soon pulled up to school and we walked to class. We saw Avery sitting and talking to some other girl.

"Oh hey guys." Avery said smiling

"Hay." I said sitting next to her

"Guys this is Julia. I met her yesterday after school. Shes new here and is able to go to the field trip with us today!" Avery said smiling

"Oh that's cool!" I said smiling

"Julia this is Shawn. Shawn this is Julia."

"Hai." Shawn said smiling

"Hey." Avery said smiling back

"Julia Dani. Dani Julia." Avery said smiling

"Haiii!" I said smiling

"Hola." Julia said laughing

"Hablas Espanol?" I said shocked (you speak Spanish?)

"Si. Incluso frances y sueco." Julia said ( yes even French and Swedish.)

"Your pretty cool." I said smiling

"Thanks you too." Julia said

After that boring period we went to the bus. I was looking around for Shawn but he sat down and boy sat next to him. Ugh. I went to find Avery and Julia but they sat next to each other. Fml. I sat at a seat in the back by Shawn and the girls but they were in the left section a seat in front of the one next to us. If that makes any sense at all. I sat down and to my great luck Hayes sat next to me. Yay!! Note the sarcasm.

"Hey Dani." Hayes said smiling

"Hey Hayes." I said looking out the window

" What's up?" Hayes asked

"Nothing really. You?" I asked

"Ehh nothing." Hayes said

"How's life?" Hayes asked

"Oh um I'm good. You?" I asked

"Good.good." Hayes said smiling

I turned around and saw Julia, Avery, and Shawn smiling at me. I rolled my eyes and put my headphones on. I played Better Together by Fifth Harmony. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep. I woke up and Hayes was on his phone.

"Hey" Hayes said smiling at me

"Oh hey. What time is it." I asked

"It is currently 8:00 at night." Hayes said

"Oh dang." I said

"Yup." Hayes said looking back at his phone

I turned around and saw Avery asleep with Julia and I couldn't see Shawn so I decided to text him.

Dani: hola you awake?
Shawn 😊: yeah I'm bored up here
Dani: same Hayes is kinda awkward
Shawn 😊: 😂 did he try to make a move?
Dani: NO! Shawn I don't like him 😒
Shawn 😊: yes you do
Dani: No I don't 😒
Shawn 😊: yes
Dani: no
Shawn 😊: yes
Dani: no I'm done!!!!
Shawn 😊: fine
Dani: Anyways Wyd
Shawn 😊: nothing really you?
Dani: same 'p'
Shawn 😊: o
Dani: yup

I looked up from my phone and looked out the window.

"Wanna play 20 questions?" Hayes asked

Oh jeez.

"Sure." I said smiling

"Okay you first." Hayes said

"Okay. What's you're favorite color?" I asked

"Blue. What about you?" Hayes said

"Purple."

"What's you're favorite food?" Hayes asked

"French fries. What's you're favorite sport?" I asked

"Football and lacrosse. Do you have any siblings?" Hayes asked

"1 sister. Do you like cheese?"

"Yes. Cheese is good. Favorite cartoon." I said before he could answer

"Spongebob. Favorite song." Hayes said

"Good girls by 5sos. How many siblings do you have?" I asked

"3. Will, Nash, and Skylynn. Favorite animal." Hayes said

"Panda. What do you wanna be when you grow up?" I said

"I'm not sure. What do you wanna be?" Hayes said

"A singer." I said smiling

"I'm getting bored." Hayes said

"Me too." I said

This isn't awkward at all... he just keeps staring at me 😳😳
