Lee Nari entered her Mothers house announcing herself.
"Mom!" She exclaims. "I'm here!"
A women in her 40s come out of a room.Small but confident.
"Finally," she sighed. "I have a box of stuff from the old house. It's the junk box we had. I was wondering if you wanted to look through it."
The women walks over to the brown box on the coffee table and pulls out a clear plastic bag full with letters."I think this is yours," she places the bag on the table.
Grabbing the bag and opening it, she see a couple of old open envelopes and bracelets that were a bit worn out."And I forgot to mention it but can you go to the market and grab me a few things I want to make you a meal before you leave," the mother says.
Nodding her head, Nari stands up and walks towards the door, waits for her Mother to write down the groceries needed and, once done, walks out and is on her way to the market.
Nari, however, didn't notice that she forgot to put down the plastic bag until she looked down.It interested her.
She never recalled writing or reviving letters or any type of mail really.Nari pull out one of the envelopes. She took out the paper inside and unfolded it. Looking at the top it read: "Dear Soobin,"
That's all it took to bring hundreds of memories back.
Dear Soobin,
I hope you're doing well. It's been a few weeks since I've heard from you. I really am sorry for over reacting. I didn't mean to call you that. I really cherish you as a friend and would hate for something so unimportant to ruin our friendship. You are my only friend after all. Please write back.
Love Nari
A best friend is unforgettable.
Her heart started pounding just thinking about the boy.
The way he made her teenage heart pound.Dear Soobin,
I really miss you Soobin. I really didn't mean to upset you this much. It just came out I wasn't thinking. I don't hate you I never did. And I can't. As much as I try to get mad that you haven't written me back I can't. I miss you too much and I just want to go get food together and eat at Youngsan Park. Write me back.
Love Nari
Youngsan Park?
Of course she recalled the countless days that they would spend laying on the grass and chatting away while feasting on the food Mrs. Choi would make them.
Talking about the most random topics their young brains could think of.Those were days she felt most alive.
Every moment spent with him were the ones that never faded from her mind.
They've always been there.Nari didn't realize it till now though.
While doing all this thinking, the girl managed to grab everything she needed and made her way back home, already knowing what she was gonna ask her mother.
Walking through the front door and placing the items on the table, Nari looked at her mother who was sitting on the couch.
She sat next to her mother and cleared her throat and after catching her mothers attention, she question."Do you remember Choi Soobin?"
