Much to your dismay, you're not going to have another night shift soon.
"Guess UN woke up and decided that he wants me to lose my mind with everything that's been going on in the building." You thought as you shoved another slice of toast into your mouth while muttering light insults to the head of the countries and thinking about what kind of chaos you would encounter today. "Probably more siblings banter, fights, and a bunch of glares from EU." You muttered, and yeah, the European Union himself hasn't forgiven you yet, and he still shot glares at you every now and then, which, annoyed you very much.
The exact moment you stepped out of your car, a certain Asian country immediately grabbed your arm and pulled you in a random direction, which, surprised you. "Where're ya taking me Laos?" Upon hearing his name slipping out of your mouth, Laos stood still for a moment, before turning to face you as his hands gripped your shoulders.
"You-You called me by my name! Without any formalities! That's some character development right there!!" You just stood there, brushing his hands off of you, mentally facepalming.
"You and your friends, literally, threaten me with those flip-flops and bamboos and even brooms of yours! Just to call you guys by your name with no formalities! And now you're surprised? I should've known." Laos looked confused, so you decided that you'll do him a favor and remind him of what had happened.
~ Flashback ~
"Y/N, I'm going to be nice ONE.LAST.TIME. Call us by our names, and no sirs allowed." Malaysia stated, again, this time with a murderous smile on his face. But no matter how dangerous he might look, you're not falling for such plots, you're never calling your boss without formalities, it's just unprofessional.
"Ah... Malay... You need to understand their situation, UN hired them to work for us, it's unprofessional if they had thrown away the formalities-" Brunei tried his best to defuse the situation like usual, but this time, he was interrupted.
"YOU don't have a say in this, 'Nei. They're calling us by our names only, whether they like it or not." Philippines snapped at Brunei, also dissatisfied with the fact that you refused to call them by their names.
"...This is getting annoying, they can call us whatever they wish, now shut up and let me do my work." Even Singapore joined in this time, and that only happens if things are getting out of hand.
"Oh no no no, I don't think so," Indonesia spoke as his hands suddenly grabbed out a bamboo, OUT OF NOWHERE! "What do you say, Y/N?" He turned to you with a face decorated with a smile that's as murderous as Malaysia's.
"Oh OH! I also have some flip-flops with me somewhere. They'll do great damage." Laos smiled innocently as he shuffled his backpack for his supplies of flip-flops. By now, you were probably sweating so badly.
"...Yeah no, I ain't dealing with this." Cambodia, who just got out of his office, stared at the scene in front of him for a few seconds before walking away, too tired of everything.
"...For once I agree, let's go grab coffee together Cam." Myanmar who was there from the beginning, quickly made his way toward his friend, eager to leave the chaotic mess as soon as he could.
After Myanmar had slammed the door shut, there was nothing but murderous auras inside the room. The ASEAN countries looked at you, smiling dangerously, minus Brunei and Singapore of course, they were sighing in defeat while rethinking their life choices in a corner.
But right at the moment you thought it couldn't get any worse, the door was wide opened again, this time revealing a beaming Thailand and a grinning Vietnam, both had their hands behind their back.
"How's it going? Oh, I see... they kept refusing, didn't they?" Vietnam asked while turning his head toward Indonesia, when they saw the said country nod, Thailand and Vietnam turned to you, removing their hands from their back and revealing a broom. Grinning, they spoke "Knowing that would happen sooner or later... We've brought a broom! Nicely crafted in our respective nations!"
You sighed and looked at your supposed superiors in a defeated manner "I don't have a choice, do I?"
~ End of flashback ~
"Oh, yeah, I remember now... Sorry..." Laos said apologetically, you could only huff at him in response before asking him about where he was going to drag you to earlier. Laos just mumbled out a quiet 'yeah... I kinda forgot...' and started dragging you again.
After a long while of being dragged around the building, Laos finally stopped in front of a meeting room, "Here we are! A meeting's going to start soon, so UN personally asked me to drag you here on time." Oh, so that's what it is- Wait, but why dragging you though? Meh, whatever the reason was, you couldn't care less.
Pushing the wooden door open, you were greeted with the sight of the English siblings, fighting, again. "Why is it that every time I see them, they're always fighting...?" Murmuring, you let your eyes scan around the room for an empty seat, after a few seconds, you finally spotted one that's between Switzerland and Poland. Slowly, you made your way towards the said place.
"Hello, Switzerland, is this seat taken?" You casually asked, and yes, Switzerland had insisted for you to call him by his name too when he heard you did the same to the ASEAN countries, and well, with Indonesia standing next to you at that moment, you could've died if you had said no.
The neutral country smiled and answered you, "No, not that I'm aware of, feel free to sit, Y/N." Switzerland said while his hands gestured towards the plate that was filled with fine Swiss chocolate, telling you to have some. And well, if he was so gracious, you're not going to deny his kind offer, would you?
The Polish country had already noticed you by now, so he tapped your shoulder, the same way he did on your first encounter with him, and greeted you. You were about to greet him back, when he interrupted you with something you were oh-so familiar with.
"So, I see you're on first name basics with several countries for the last few days, and I wonder, would you mind calling me Poland too? It sounds more friendly than Sir Poland." Oh great, another person, so many people have asked you this already, there's China, the Belarus twins, Nekomi, Kazakhstan, Russia, even Canada and his siblings! And why did you agree? Well, somehow, there's always Indonesia, Philippines or Malaysia nearby when they asked, so you can't say no. But none of them are here, so it'd be okay to refuse-
"Oh! That's a great idea, what do you say, Y/N!?" Oh great, and here you thought you were safe, but no, Vietnam just had to be there, sending you a sweet, innocent smile, one that you had seen before when he brought the broom during the incident.
You inhaled, before forcing a smile onto your lips and spoke, "Yeah, that sounds nice."
But seriously though, do these countries despise formalities that much? 'Cause from what you're seeing, then yeah, they must've loathed formalities.
